Show us all your churches, temples, synagogues, shrines, mosques, and other religious buildings where your citizens go to pray. Here are some from my city journal. These are supposed to be in the future. Also if any of you know links to good religious buildings please post them.

This is beautiful, one of my favorites. May I ask where you got the house next to the church?

I like the first shot with the church at the end of the road and the cemetary nearby.  Reminds me of old country churches and have their own cemetaries.  Very realistic.

I have a couple of churches by my universities I will post in a day or two :)

What mod do I need to get those neat paved slopes as in this picture?
districtb9.png

They look so sweet that I want to create a mountain-city right now.

I don't think it's a mod. It's almost certainly a wall pack of 1x1 park lots that you place manually on the slopes. Tedious, but looks really nice when it's all done.

Thank you.  In fact my whole region started out with only rural areas, so the HOW & Cemetery were the first to go down. The funny thing is, the Power Sub-station just went down right before taking the image motivated by this thread. Even the housing to the left is fairly new to the city's development.

Looking forward to the images.

Wow Magneto, what a compliment. Thank you very much. Doing my best to balance between Form&Function with the city's growth. It certainly helps that there are a gazillion MMPs, and a good handful of "Filler" lots/bats to help beef up the "realism" factor. SC4 just basically gives you the structures for the Sims, it's up to us to build the infrastructure around the buildings that shines.

Can't say the narcissist in me doesn't want to do a CJ, but I know it's a bit more time consuming than I have at the moment. There are some really good CJs out there too (cough cough Paeng cough), that I'd rather build my skill /knowledge up a bit more before taking on a project. It'll also help if/when I ever get inspired by a "story", not collectively or lengthy, but rather 'blurby' to include with the images. Sort of how I tried to do here:    It doesn't help that there are just so many ways you can go with a CJ that just narrowing down the focus is a task all it's own. Whether you want to CJ the development, include fans in the development process, have a story, picking a "period" or style, etc etc etc...the list is so long. As a Gemini, it's hard for me to do any ONE thing at a time. lol  But to answer your question, yes I would like to do a CJ some day. ;)

I also believe you're right about the walls.

EDIT: some advice that just came to me, with any image, it's all about the angle and cropping that can make or break it. You really only want the best framed and the excess cut out. And if I ever get the urge to install Photoshop again, the images could really be brought to life. I enjoy some of the images with the slight blurred edges for depth, but not to much or it kills the image. Makes me feel like I'm missing out on some of the picture.

Can I point out that the last on is not a church, obviously in a cj it can be anything But in real life that is a city hall and bell tower. Just a heads up

It looks just like a church though. City hall does not come to mind when I see that however. In RL was it a church at some point and then turned into a city hall?

No it is a belfry which is a Belgian town hall and main town bell tower. This one is from Ghent. Never ment to be a church never was and probably (unless we start worshipping the local counsel which is near impossible) never will. Bruges has one aswell which is very pretty

I thought the same thing. Sure looks like a nice medieval church.

But does it have the religious benefits in SC4, or just imaginary church? Has the name been changed or does it still say city hall when it's queried?

The Montos Cathedral image is a really nice close-up.

Here's a new small church that went up last night.

That doesn't exactly have a smooth transition to diagonal roads. Otherwise, it is a nice small church.

I like that one a lot--looks just like the kind I'd see around where I live.

By the way, there is a way to make that parking lot look like it connects:

Demolish the church, and then drag one tile of street out from the road exactly where the parking lot entrance is.  Then plop a SAM starter piece (any texture works), but place it so that the dirt part that disappears is over top of the street cul-de-sac.  The street tile will be gone, but the intersection with the road will remain and look cut off.  Then just place the church back.

You don't know how much I hate that too. Without actually doing some lot editing on my own, there's not much I can do about it. One of the very few downsides to the grid in SC4. Most "driveways" don't extend to the street either unless TE'ed. Some times I can use a MMP to create a gravel path, but not in this instant. Though I did try anyways, even knowing it probably wouldn't work, that's how much I hate the diagonal.

There are ways around it!  Please read my post above this quoted one.   ;)
