FYI Mel holds dual Irish and American citizenship. But that's not the point. I was referring to Hollywood actors in general, excluding the actors in the Harry Potter movies (as they aren't Americans in any sense).

Harry Potter, with its British cast, British source material, British location, has strong British roots, and it would be difficult for me to argue that it is anything but a British movie.  James Bond, I believe, falls under the same sort of category.  However, many screenwriters and directors who have worked on the movies have been from other countries, notably, of course, the US.  Even so, even with some Hollywood money, I still think HP and 007 fall within the sphere of British film.
