Allergies do suck , but so does arthritis . And when it is cold , it really makes me hurt . Arthritis flare ups are not as bad in warmer weather , that's why I like summer . Plus the days are longer and who doesn't like that , right .

Since I have hardware in my ankle, I feel the bad weather coming, no matter what season. It's like the screws are tuning rods for storms.

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

You are probably right Duke87 , I too can tell when weather is taking change . Rain days are all too miserable at times . Summer maybe mosquito heaven , but I don't fear them . If I get sick , it will just be another thing to deal with when /if it happens . They say if something doesn't kill you , it will make you stronger . The day before I pass away , my name may be Hercules . Haha .

I don't have any particular fear of catching a mosquito-borne illness (it's unlikely where I live). The bites are itchy and annoying to deal with, though. And if I am unfortunate enough to have a mosquito find its way into my bedroom in the middle of the night, well, there goes my good night's sleep. At some point I will inevitably wake up and be made aware of its existence either by it buzzing in my ear or the presence of a fresh itchy bite. Then I will be unable to go back to sleep until I find it and kill it.

I love so many parts of nature, but I hate bugs.

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Feels like spring is in the air . Talking about bugs , all kinds of then are beginning to take flight here in WV . I couldn't say how many spider webs I walked through yesterday , and spiders are the only bugs that creep me out . Ugh .

Yeah , spiders aren't that bad , they do us good deeds . But I'd have to agree with Duke87 , bees and wasp'  can be much more of a pain . A couple years ago I was moving plastic storage totes around in my outbuilding and in the handle of one was a wasp nest . It felt like i plunged my hand into boiling water , pulled it out and had six wasp putting it to me . Ouch , that was smarts . Now I know why my grandmother always said "look before you leap"

One time my father and I were clearing some brush, and suddenly he uncovered a wasp's nest among it. He yelled and ran and escaped unscathed. I got stung multiple times despite having not been the one to disturb the nest because I didn't start running as soon and ended up being the closer target. >.<

Spiders are good, they help keep the others in check.

I have a 6'7" friend who is very afraid of spiders, kinda funny to watch him jump when he sees one considering it is a thousand times smaller than he is.

No doubt Phil , My step daughter's ex was a big boy and he too was afraid of spiders . One time he had a spider on his jacket , I told him . And he jumped up , screamed like a girl and threw his jacket on the floor and ran to another room . Funny stuff from such a big dude .   I teased him ever after . The next time I see him I think I'll do it again just for fun .

^ Is it time to have the talk yet ? If so , it's better before than after . I felt the same way with my step daughters at first . But after the talk , I felt confident they would make safe choices and they did . You just have to be blunt about it sometimes . Honesty is the best policy . Girls mature faster than boys in most instances .

Ha. Interestingly, my girlfriend is more concerned about this subject than I am... for now at least. I suspect my priorities are in the order they are because as of this writing I can totally sympathize with the young man who wants the daughter, but not with the parents.

I feel if you're honest about life and its happiness and its costs, will lead to smarter decisions.

Is that for work? It would take a 20 to 21 hour flight for me to get from NY to Sydney. :boggle:

Rush like Tom Sawyer. The line in my previous post is lifted from "Freewill" off the album Permanent Waves. A rather underrated Rush album, overshadowed by its successor (which contains "Tom Sawyer" and the famous "YYZ").
