He rocked my face off. He opened with Fell In Love With A Girl which was the first White Stripes song I ever heard. I found that to be appropriate.

 

I don't mind the vinyl only thing he is doing. It reminds me of a time before the internet was so expansive and before a lot of music had been made available digitally. One used to have to venture out to find obscure work. This is about as close as you can get. You don't have to spend a lot of money either. My record player is nothing special and I picked it up at a second hand shop. As far as getting the song onto your computer, I know there is a shop by me that can do all sorts of sound and video format transfer and whatnot for a reasonable price, provided they are still open. I haven't been to that neighborhood for a while.

My mixer allows me to record vinyl into an uncompressed format onto my PC for use in a DAC so I never really have to worry about loss of quality, I can have both physical and digital.

Actually, funny thing: the college I went to had a dormitory which was basically built into the side of a cliff... it had a back door on the 8th floor, which was uphill from most things on campus. The front door, meanwhile, was downhill from most things on campus. If you lived in that building you actually could walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways! Of course you could also walk to school downhill both ways, which was much more common in practice.

We had a smog warning in June.  The air was yellow.  I've never experienced a smog warning in my life.  Toledo, in my lifetime, has never had yellow air, at least not like what I saw here a couple months ago.
