Normally I'd give anything with Eugene Levy a chance but, nah I don't want to watch those most recent AP movies at all.

I'm like that with SeagaI, even if the story sucks, He can do no wrong, seen every movie, except that one vampire one cause I'm not into that.

Of course there are a few exceptions of ones I'd never watch again, zsubmerged, killswitch and out for a kill come to mind, but the rest, worth watching, no one does it better.

My girlfriend and I have taken to watching Jeopardy! together (thanks DVR).

Then there are the reality shows she likes to watch where I have to leave the room before I feel my IQ start dropping.

 yes there are many many bad bad shows out there, I think I weep when I see a family member watching

Just got back from vacation in Portugal, thought it would be relaxing but I ended up having a better time than that, now I'm tired.

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

I visited Detroit in 2012. Decent ballpark.

Last month I was in Texas and attended home games for both the Astros and Rangers. This brings me to 21/30 for MLB ballparks visited.

I've been to Comerica Park and old Tiger Stadium plenty of times, as well as Camden Yards, old Busch Stadium, and Jacobs Field or whatever those idiots are calling their stupid stadium these days.  I also logged games at Ned Skeldon in Maumee and 5/3 Field in support of the World Famous Toledo Mud Hens.

It is, at this point, easier for me to list the ballparks I have not been to. That list is: SEA, SF, OAK, LAA, LAD, MIN, ATL, TB, MIA.

I have been to both the old and new NYY and NYM stadiums, so if we count former ballparks separately I have been to 23 in total.

Also, I saw the Nats play in RFK stadium but have not been to Nationals Park. So if it doesn't count if a team moves and I've only been to their former home, I'm missing WSH as well.

They key is I've been at this a while. First year I saw each team:
1994: NYY (have seen many times since)
1996: NYM (have seen many time since)
2002: BOS
2004: CLE, PHI (returned a second time in 2010)
2006: COL
2007: WSH
2009: BAL (returned a second time in 2014)
2010: PIT
2011: TOR, CIN
2012: DET
2013: ARI, SD
2014: CWS, MIL, CHC
2015: KC, STL
2016: HOU, TEX

I went to a baseball stadium once. My dad promised me there would be dinosaurs there, but it was only the Cubs.

Yes, this is kitty.

Just watched Prince Fielder fall apart at his press conference,  Has to be so hard to give it all up when you work that hard.

Yeah , no doubt . It's been mostly about sports for several post , so I haven't commented lately . Seems like summer is coming to an end quickly , where did it go ? Schools are starting here in a week or two . And before you know it , the trees will be naked . Hopefully they turn colors first before they're leaves fall .

Had an afternoon thunderstorm here in WV , it got windy and real dark as all get out . The trees were doing the hokey pokey and shaking all about . Also had some of the loudest and longest thunder boomers I've heard in a long time . The lights went out momentarily , but came back on quickly .

Are we back to talking about SPAM and Monty Python? :P

Random video made by a town government in Portugal, so random I wonder what Finland did to get them to make this

My maternal grandparents fled the poverty of West Virginia in the 1960s, and somehow managed to relocate to Hawaii.  That was probably the single smartest family move they ever made.

My paternal great-grandparents emigrated from Cebu in the Philippines to Hawaii in the 1930s.  That too was smartly fortunate of them, as they did not face the oncoming horrors of the Japanese invasion and occupation, and the most they saw firsthand of the war were the Zeroes over Oahu.

We watched the latest Ghibli movie about the guy who designed the Zero.  It was a fairly good movie (not great, but not bad, either, and it deviates from accurate history somewhat) that managed to piss of both the right wing nationalists ("war is wrong and we shouldn't change our anti-war constitution blah blah blah" in interviews leading up to the movie) and Miyazaki's own leftist hippie friends (because the movie is basically glorifying the design of a killing machine).  I love art!

It's funny how movies/documentaries stray off from fact and sway into something else . The mysteries of Hollywood .  I believe every movie/TV show has tidbits of fact mixed in with the story no matter how fictitious they are . I like to look at things like nobody else does :uhm:

I do like the movie "Eternal Zero" ("Eien no Zero"), admittedly a historical fiction portraying a Zero kamikaze pilot as a patriotically idyllic hero trying his best to survive.  Of course, the film version deliberately avoids the moral event horizon of the original bestselling novel or the TV drama, where the humanist pilot there is shown machine-gunning downed American pilots hanging helplessly in their parachutes.  Whitewashing the truth perhaps, but the truth here is a novelist's fiction published in 2006.  Miyazaki called the movie "a pack of lies," leading right-wing author Hyakuta Naoki to retort the same about Miyazaki's own movie.  Right-wing Prime Minister Abe says he was "deeply moved," spurring China to label the film "terrorist propaganda."  Ironically, one of the characters in the movie also equates the kamikaze to modern suicide bombers, and, perhaps even more ironically, the English-subtitled version is licensed and distributed out of Hong Kong!  While wingnut nationalists and communists howled, audiences to one of Japan's top-ten all-time cinema blockbusters were left in tears.  They also got enough CGI Zeroes to make aircraft enthusiasts giddy, a lovingly modeled carrier Akagi that will do the same for naval enthusiasts, and J-pop boy band idols tragically ground into cannon fodder for a hopeless war.
