Light drizzle is my favorite weather condition, which will not happen in this 20 degree F area up here.

Did you beat me to it, Larks? I'm as lost as everyone else.

I saw you reading the topic at the same time and thought you might snipe me.

Ah. Well, as I mentioned a few pages ago, I don't always post after catching up with the thread. If I have nothing to add I just keep it moving.

As for the snow in my area, there's quite a bit of it. My borough, which has a notoriously excellent snow removal crew, dropped the ball this weekend and the whole neighborhood is a mess. Supposedly a shipment of salt or calcium chloride or whatever the heck they toss at the ground was late when it arrived here in the Pittsburgh area and that was to blame. The front walk here at my building is clear, no thanks to me. There is no mention of snow removal by tenant in my lease so I don't do it nor do I know who does, but like magic, the job gets done. Amazing.

Meanwhile I just replaced the light bulb in my refrigerator only to have my dad tell me "That's your landlord's job!". My dad is slightly more bitter than I am that my landlord has still not put deadbolts on my doors, which I requested after I was robbed in August. August!

Oh, and a raccoon is living in my attic. Not exactly Frank Zappa's Trouble Every Day, but problems, man. Problems.

See? This time I had quite a bit to add, so it evens out somehow.

Had my first big mac in 2 years, I must say the bread quality has dropped since I remember it had to spit part of it out, But considering I drink most of my food now I probably wasn't used to it.

I'm knitting a scarf, should be done well before winter.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I started watching the modern series of Doctor Who one week ago, I'm now watching series 2. Now I understand why the fans are so enthusiastic about it, it's really good.

(Help, one week ago I still was a rational human being and now I'm a Whovian!)

I avoid any TV series that is not Top Gear.  There are only so many hours in the day, and if I'm going to put up with bad writing, it might as well be my own.  Except Top Gear which is hilarious and often exciting.

I started Watching Doctor Who a bit over a year ago with my then-girlfriend. Then we broke up and I stopped.

The show was enjoyable but I'm very uninclined to sit down and watch a TV show if I'm not watching it with someone, both because I won't treat it as a priority and make time for it if it's just me, and because watching TV alone is kind of boring and also kind of depressing. So, remove the show-watching partner from my life and I stop watching the show.

The fact that said show-watching partner is my ex-girlfriend also kind of sours things since now I associate the show with her and it might feel weird to watch it with someone else. The Hunger Games is permanently ruined for me for the same reason.

2953: My ex girlfriend drank water. Now I can't stand the stuff.

Jokes aside, it's actually interesting how that happens. But oh well. And on the girlfriends and TV shows train, I am currently getting mine into Skins. She is trying to get me to watch Veronica Mars.

I convinced my boyfriend to watch The Bridge ('Bron-Broen'), a Danish-Swedish series about a murder on the border between the two countries (that is: on the 8 km long bridge connecting Malmö and Copenhagen). (I think the best Scandinavian thing I have seen yet.)

With this sort of thing I'd say there's a line to be drawn. Being convinced to do things you otherwise wouldn't is usually bad in my book even if there's nothing wrong with the things themselves simply because it means being robbed of some of your individuality. Good friends and partners don't pressure you to do things you otherwise wouldn't, they enable you to do things you otherwise couldn't.

It's not really pressure, it's more like saying 'hey, this is good, give it a try'. It's pointing their attention at something they might not yet know and you think they might like.

I know my boyfriend, he won't watch things he doesn't want to. And if he doesn't like something, he won't watch the second episode. So no big deal, I think :)

I dated a girl before college who was really into Buffy.  I watched whatever season it was of that show with her, but I've never seen anything else from any other season.  It wasn't bad, but like I said, TV just isn't interesting to me.

I suppose it's semantics, but to me saying you "convinced" someone to do something implies pressure was applied, and that the something is something the someone didn't really want to do.

But then, this is coming from the person who is notorious for having his desire to do something be inversely proportional to how much he is told he has to do it. :P

Pressure has no affect on me.

Unless of course threats are implied.

I watched The Hunger Games last night. The first installment anyhow. There was and still is a good bit of hype surrounding the project which had left my expectations high. It wasn't a bad movie but it was by no means epic either. I guess it's more of a young adult movie so I'm not all that surprised to be in the meh club about it.

I saw it in theaters and actually rather enjoyed it, at the time. The problem in my case really just is that I was introduced to it by a person that I now do not have a positive opinion of and thus can't enjoy it anymore because it reminds me of her.

I'm not interested in it, and I probably will never see it.  I'm also slightly turned off by that chick who stars in it because the internet fawns over her so.  Yeah, she seems cool, but how many times do I need to be told I should love her?  I honestly don't care that much.  Emily Lawrence?  Is that her name?  Something like that anyways.

    Happy Valentine's Day, Simtropolis!

Since I don't have a girlfriend, I'll be sitting around playing Sim City 4 and Kingdom Hearts 3D all day.

    Sad but true.

2969: I went to my girlfriend's work with flowers and a book, although it looked kinda funny walking through a shopping centre with all that. She cried.

Then I had to go to my work we we had a fully booked restaurant because of such. But I did my usual deliveries and hence was quite busy. Came home and noticed she left me stuff. Even did one of those silly notices in the newspaper. Naww.
