Do you wish a save/reload system was introduced?

I'm sure I enjoy the game more because I am aware I couldn't simply revert to an older saved state, sorta like a rouguelike playthrough.

But I'm sure it's frustrating for some to not be able to go back and avoid a simple error in time.

How about you?

If it would help with rollbacks and reviving cities that cannot be load anymore than by all means yes.

Loading in game becouse you put a building in wrong location or whatever: no, I don't want saves for that, it would be too easy and boring.

no, we don't need to be able to save/load from the server.

What we need is an offline mode for single player, which allows to save cities locally, period.

If EA and maxis were sincere about "DRM Sucks, the always online is not a DRM", they would have done it already. All they need to do it is store some basic values about region play locally, then put the save .package in some persistent local directory instead of uploading it to the server (yes, the saves are composed locally, so basically, "uploading them to the server" is an unnecessary, problematic, and annoying step in the saving process).

Fact is, Maxis/EA prefer to either remain silent about things they want but makes players angry, either they lie openly, repeating the sames lies over and over until we either believe them or just don't care about it anymore... We must not let that happen. We must keep making our opinion heard until EA/Maxis stops their abusive lies and give player what they want, otherwise, this game is doomed.

I simply will not play it again, except some short times to test new major patches (and probably be disapointed with them, just like I was for 2.0), until the game is offline, allows local saves/load file based, and moddable without the threat of bans for modding.

No, I like the sense of progress I have with no save or reload option. Every choice matter, like in real life, is cool to redesign part of the city when something goes wrong or something in region has changed.

I would like an undo button and a manual backup save option for the whole region. 10 saves would be quite enough.

I'd like a temporary "undo" feature, that will let you undo what you've done in the past 30 seconds or so.  For instance, the first road you lay down is kind of important - the game won't let you do ANYTHING until you do that.  If you lay down a road and then immediately regret your decision, there's no going back.  You have to live with it, waste money on a rebuild, or abandon the whole kit and kaboodle.

You can't learn which way the wind is blowing (and thus where you want to lay industry), until you've laid that first road, though.  This isn't a problem in sandbox mode, but in regular mode early money is shortish.

Oh, and I can't begin to tell you how many times I've tossed down a bus station instead of a streetcar station.  That would be a nice undo.

the only thing I'd use a save/load for is when I'm bored and want to completely destroy my city, but don't want to have to rebuild it, otherwise I like how it auto saves, I use less disasters now then in other SimCity games

Ever heard of the wind overlay ? You don't need to unlock the zoning tools to see the direction of the wind.

Well no, it hadn't occurred to me to check that - thanks.

On the developer's part, It's still not very intuitive that way.

not unless I don't need to connect to a server to play it.

It's not an MMO.

YES! I do wish they had a save/reload system, I like to to reload my cities from when I first started them, and then all the way to my current one! I like to see how the city has grown from the beginning to currently, I guess I could screenshot it but it doesn't show the full city like it does when I load them! Call me weird I guess but that's just something I like to do when I play my cities! :P

that's what I liked about citiesXL2012, when you loaded the game it showed the city being built as you loaded it, I thought it was cool to see the city grow that you built

+1 on the undo feature.

I think at the very least, there should be a "save" button where you can press it and get a response back from the server to tell you that the save has been a success, so that you know if there is a rollback, you know the worst case scenario of when it rolls back to. Heck, I'd even settle for a save status indicator telling you when the last successful save was made.
