NAM 31.1 Technical Support and Bug Report Thread

Those infernal filler pieces just do not want to cooperate.

 

What do you mean by "the filler pieces don’t want to cooperate"?

 

 

Despite fixing them umpteen times, they get "unfixed".  They're very simple pieces, but also very tedious to work on as a result.

 

 

Has this been reported yet?

At first I thought it might be because I placed the HSRP track next to tan elevated rail viaduct so I place another stretch over the highway away from the elevated heavy rail viaduct and still no dice.  I can;t tell what it is trying to do there, It goes from elevated high speed rail to monorail(I get that, reversion, but what I don't get is...)then it changes to some network I have never seen before, it is not elevated light rail and it is not elevated heavy rail normal elevated light rail.  I have no clue as to why it changed to a completely different rail network after the monorail.  I tried to place starter pieces back on it to get it to change into high speed rail and no dice there either.  So basically I cannot work around this, this breaks high speed rail, the high speed rail station and anything else that comes with high speed rail, this glitch breaks the whole package.

 

I also want to note here that I am still getting fence props showing up in the closest and second closest zooms on my elevated light rail and I have check and re-installed several times to make sure that the fence props have been turned off.

 

That is two complaints in one post.  I guess I can deal with the fence props on the elevated light rail.

 

I am going to uninstall the high speed rail and all of it's components in the meantime, man I really wanted this.  If I cannot cross my highways than this is going to be purely just either a downtown rail or just a suburban/rural rail, If I cannot cross my highways than I cannot use it, as it will be trapped inside or outside of highway loops, I guess it was just not meant to be, I will just stay with monorail.

 

It looks like you have Moonlinght's Bullet Train/Shinkansen Mod installed (it's a NAM option).  That option doesn't include full RHW crossing support, so it reverts to Monorail, and you effectively have three Monorail variants all in three tiles.

 

HSRP's also an old mod.  I tried to sneak a bit of crosslink support in for this release (crosslinking two override networks is actually rather difficult, especially if one of them is relatively ancient), but it's obviously not 100% there yet.

So if I turn off the bullet train the HSRP will work properly?

 

Edit: re-installing now to check for myself.

 

Edit: No, now it does not have the bullet train mod, so it does not switch to bullet train, it just stays as monorail after crossing the first piece of RWY.

Removing the Bullet Train will just get rid of the Bullet Train.  The deconversion will still exist.

 

 

Is the goal for Moonlights Mods to have full RHW crossing capability?

 

Yes.  That might take a bit of time, however.  They're (very) high poly models, and there's a couple bigger things to fix that have diverted our attention away from that (it's rated a "DEFCON 4"--1 is highest priority, 5 is lowest).

What happens if you place a starter piece on the other side?

 I did state that I placed a starter on the other side.  That failed as well.

Any ideas on the sinkhole effect I mentioned yesterday? Just curious.

 

It's been fixed on our end, and the fix will be available soon in NAM 31.2.

The RHW-to-AVE Roundabout connections aren't a supported feature.

When you get around to fixing it though I'd suggest adding in more possibilities, soch as road in the middle or two avenues off the same side.

 

For the current situation you can just use avenue there instead.

 

And Metalpuritan, is that the only affected rotation(of RHW-4)?

this is my first time posting here.. so please forgive if this is a basic question

 

 

     I just installed 31.1 over old 30, but when I went to play game all the rail buildings turned neon green when placed and all the other buildings,

like my power stations and the little houses in the low residential areas all dissapered and turned to dirt,

 

  what happened ???

 

I installed the standard complete in stall, same place as 30

 

every thing else works fine just the rail buildings go green and delete my other ones

 

can some one please help

The reason for this is that the stations you were placing have subway connections, and selecting them placed you in the Subway Building View.  In the next version of the NAM, selecting these stations will not place you in the Subway Building View.  However, these stations will still show up as green when you enter that view by placing a standalone subway station or by entering the Subway View (such as when you build a subway).

So that means it won't be fixed until NAM 32? :golly: And why are there no L4 filler pieces? To be released for NAM 32? :P

There's Subway View (where you build subways) and Subway Building View (where you plop subway buildings).  In the NAM version of the Subway Building View, almost everything except the buildings is present.  In the Subway View, only the subway lines and stations are present.

Again, in the next version of the NAM, this will not happen when you plop those stations.

usually, the mod files goes to Plugins/Network Addon Mod/Plugins

 

but with nam 31, i couldnt find that folder. 

 

so i manage to put the sidewalk mod in Plugins/Network Addon Mod/Wide Radius

 

well everything just nice, except the 45deg avenue,

any ideas?

By judging on how it looks like, it could be the FLEX 45 degree curve where you zone on it and wealth textures will instantly appear without any separate dependencies. BTW, the puzzle piece version is still there and could have those sidewalk textures. (The FLEX version is should be marked with "FLEX" in the placement string while the puzzle piece based version doesn't have the "FLEX" label written. ;))

We are aware of this bug. It's fixed on our end, but not in the public version.

AND I CANT INSTALL THE TRAFIC SIMULATOR

Have you tried to run the installer as Administrator?

when is 32 due out??

We have honestly no idea. We just released version 31.1 less than a week ago on the STEX. We are still figuring out how we are going to tackle all bugs reported, some very severe as the Not-Prop Pox bug (which is even very new to us) just need some more research and we can't estimate how long that will take now.

Read the Readme or drown in bugs and glitches; the choice is yours...

If I may ask:  where in the DefCon scale do the missing custom interchanges for the Maxis highways fall?  I'm just not ready to make the jump to PS (I tend to work on rather terrain-heavy maps where space for interchanges is at a premium).

I am having problems with the L2 flex-fly over the L0 RHW 8S. the 8s tiles get reversed so the yellow line is on the wrong side.

 

Also any RHW crossings over the C network highways are missing the support pylons on the middle tile. 

 

Sorry no pictures i am having issues posting them on this forum.

I have recently downloaded Nam version 31.1, and after I downloaded it and got to the installer, I got something along the lines of: "Could not create installation directory".

 

I also tried this after uninstalling the old version of NAM, and same thing. Is there any way to manually create a file?

Yes, this is exactly what is expected.  Does that Plugins folder exist?  If so, can you copy files into it?

 

 

Yes, it exists as I pulled out another mod and put it back in fine. However, it said that the mod was denied until I confirmed I was administrator. Maybe that is blocking it?

 

EDIT: It has installed! Thanks so much for the help z1! Lowering user control and restarting worked!

Hi NAM team,

 

Just installed NAM 31.1, and it finally works on my Mac!

 

I am having some seemingly minor texture problems though. Diagonals are not showing up (despite the paths still being there). They were appearing perfectly fine under my old NAM.

 

Is this a superfluous file that I have in the new NAM, or a missing file? I tried it with both the Maxis and one of the NAM textures.
