Roeun Facts

    Rouen, traditionally the capital of the French region of Normandy, is today the capital of Upper Normandy.  The city has a long and storied history as one of medieval Europe's most important cities.  The city was at one time co-capital of England (along with London, of course) after the Norman Conquest and was the site of the executionof Joan of Arc.  Today, about 500,000 people live in Rouen (pronounced ru-AH  in French).  Rouen's cathedral, visible in this view of the city, was the subject of several Debussy paintings and is one of Europe's most beautiful.

We are now at Mystery City #20.  At this point, I am going to tweak the rules a little, mainly dealing with the point scale.  The cities will now be divided into three categories, Easy, Medium, and Hard, each with a corresponding point scale.  This scale will be as follows:

 

Easy  <>  Country:  1 point  <>  City:  4 points  <> <>  Examples:  Barcelona, Vienna, Hamburg

Medium  <>  Country:  2 points  <>  City:  8 points  <>  Examples:  Rouen, Split, Taranto

Difficult  <>  Country:  4 points  <>  City:  16 points    <>  Examples:  Albi, Kielce, Emmen

 

The player who guessed the last city (not country) will be allowed to choose the difficulty level of the next question.  I will PM the winner and will allow 3 days from that PM for them to reply with a difficulty level.  If no reply is received, the difficulty level of the last question will be reused.  This new system will begin with the correct answer to the next MC, which will be Difficult.

Hmm...this one is very difficult indeed...should be even more so than I anticipated.  This town is small...definitely less than 5,000 people.  <- Clue #1.  Also, it is in Andaluc
