ok last one, but this ones out there... I'd love to see a rollover fish eye magnifyer about a block in width. How cool would it be to see at ground level with your cursor. Maybe picked up by a menu item or right click or key command idk

Can someone make a mod that lets the player plop normal buildings. For example, to plop an apartment or a skyscraper, like in the trailers for the game.

hey guys I have an idea for a mod for SimCity 2013 capton has developed a mod for the police cars can someone create a mod for the ambulances to operate independently  from the hospitals and clinics where I live at the ambulances operate independently and or with the local fire departments it would be nice if they could have their own building that can be plopped separately or to work with the fire dept. Also the hospital needs a helicopter to work with it like in sim city 4 rush hour  thank you for considering these ideas and I do hope someone can develop them

I have a little MOD REQUEST: As we can plop megatowers outside the citybox, is it possible to add the megatowers roads outside? We could link all megatowers outside the box and perhaps, link them to the inner city!!!

 

What do you think about that?

Hi,

Another idea for a mod, when we make education cities, these cities cannot turn up profits so building university towns is not a very appealing option.

However in the university we can plop dorms which attracts foreign students. So like in real life these studenrs should benefit the city's economy. In short, the dorms should be able to generate income by chraging the foreign students for rent.

Furthermore, these students should be able to shop like normal sims do.

If someone could make such a mod I would be so happy and it would open up a whole new world of possibilities.

I do not really know my way around advanced modding. I have released a mod previously, the wealth exclusive casinos.

I am a programmer so I am willing to collaborate with anyone willing to guide me to make this mod possible.

  • oppie's burger king/mcdonald building mod for all wealths and density
    • also other fast food restaurants like dairy queen (my favorite for fried chicken), zaxby's (best fries), and china 8 (chinese chicken.....what more can i say)
  • subway mod for those of us not wanting to buy CoT
  • curved specialty building
    • so we can make better circular towns and watch all the trade/tourism/etc go in circles
    • squares eventually start to bore you :P
  • not sure if possible, but more advanced trade materials would be fun to work with
  • allowing service cities to make enough of a profit to overcome the costs

Edit Road/Street meaning when we go over it besides upgrade it we can name it same with Police Stations,Schools and so on.

Toll Road/Rest Area/like in IL and FL Gas Station/ so on in between Highway.

Monorail,Road Construction that has Road closed and it would say like next 4.5 miles Road work happing,Next like 22 miles Cross Traffic or Freeway ends.

Wind Power like Water Tower.

Lumber Yard like Southerlands.

Addons for Airport like Car Rental Places like Enterprise.

Zones for Lodging,C2,RP1 and so on.

Car Dealership like a Ford Dealer.

Matinence Building for Snow removal and so on.

Land for Sale/ Rent.

Hi, is there a mod that generates income on power generated based on the current population? This makes it so that aside from taxes, the city earns revenue on the electricity being provided to its citizens to offset the maintenance costs of the power plants. Its much like when you are selling power to neighboring cities. If possible I would also like to see this happen to water pumping. Let them receive their first electricity and water bills.  :)

a ploppable bus and streetcar stops that works outside of the normal 2k box and works with orion's 3k mod. there is one that uses BOC but it's clumsy and kind of useless, I want one that I adhere's to the plop point policy

 

any takers or has this already been done. if so link please.

Hey guys,

 

I've got a request that is not completely new.

I just stumbled upon created by Felgard.

I love the idea and look of it, but it functions far from perfect.

So far people are having trouble with getting it to work at all, removing after placed and multiple other problems.

Could someone look into this? It would be a great addition.

Road Construction taking time to build?

When building a Highway have Diamond Interchanges,Czech,overleaf,Off and On Ramp as a Module so we can put them any where on the Highway?

as we are showing now with new stuff and decorations and improvements nothing is not possible but we are reaching a point where more user content will come out and we have made sure it has a home in akar as well

 

Buildings stand alone to replace or add to RCI PLOPS for various malls strip malls are very possible

 

however without new rules (which have been requested at maxis on your behalf) things like PONY and UNICORN (projects that add supply chain and distribution center) will not make them really valuable and add a new level of engagement to the game like we would want I feel which would be the right direction and choice however I'm continue to push for what everyone is asking for.

 

Key is getting more people involved so please.. do ask yayie and others.. we will help show you and teach you things.

 

but we need more people to spread out projects create new content teams.. SUGC Team 1 is going to be the ones that help you others get involved in group efforts and bring more 3d artists, 2d artists, scripters, designers and project managers into the teams to create seamless and more larger scale implementations of content with a unified feel.

 

what we provide to you and the community are meant to give you a new direction and keep quality and the feel the same as maxis and improve how mods feel and intuitiveness.

 

please be proactive only that way will things evolve..

xoxide, i looked at simcitypak tool earlier and i am surprised you guys/gals figured out how to mod with that. it's like in another language (excluding the fact that some of it is actually in another language xD)

 

maybe i am spoiled after modding torchlight 2 for a bit :(

My MOD request would be regarding lower density concrete roads, they add real character to my cities and almost give it character however when I want larger development and I have to upgrade the roads to the next stage which is 4 lanes I feel my character is drawn away to a city that just wants to expand so would it be possible that we can get a lower, medium and high density roads that are all 2 lane only?

A question and request for the modders out there: is it possible to make changes to the way city connections work and are there any modders interested in persuing this?There are two ways cities currently can exchange goods and services:

 

1. Direct: like emergency services and gifts. The donating player can set how much of these goods and services he/she wants to donate to which city. (2 ambulances to City B, 2000 simoleons to City C)

 

2. Indirect: like power, water, waste, workers shoppers etc. Here the donating player cannot choose who get's what. Instead the total number of the good get's evenly devided amongst possible interested cities. For example: City A has a surplus of 1000MW for sale. City B requires 800 and City C requires 200. Because there are 2 cities interested in the power, both get equal opportunity to buy it: 500 each. So City B can only buy 500 although it needs more and City A can only sell 700 although it has 1000 for sale.

 

This makes some sense for multiplayer as you allow multiple people to grow. However it is a sever handicap for single players who want to manage their cities. It also means that increasing the number of cities in each cluster would break any intercity trade.

 

My preferred regional connections overhaul:

1. Change all indirect trade to direct. Give the donating city the ability to set how much of what it wants to send to which city similar to gifting.

2. Increase number of cities in a cluster.

3. Fix student commuting.

4. Allow university cities to sell tech to other cities?

 

 

Project orion seems to do well on making sure cities in a region 'look' more like one big city. These changes I feel are nessecary to make a city 'act' more like one big city. Is this hard to do or not?

Hi, I'm new here and I'm so impressed by all the mods you guys have made. You are awesome. 

 

I'm guessing most if the things I'm gonna suggest here have already been suggested but here I go:

 

For Udon
Different kinds of ploppable interchanges. I love Udon but sometimes it's really hard to make interchanges in in tight spaces. I saw this was recently released for the regional highway. would be nice to have for udon as well. 
Add a exitlane for the ramps  

Make it possible to draw both highwaylanes at the same time as we could in Simcity 4.

 

Parks and stuff
Being able to make beaches with parkinglots, lifeguards, palmtrees, and all that kind of stuff

Parks and monuments for roundabouts

Triangular Parks/buildings for those spots where buildings cant be placed

Arenas for Hockey (madision square guarden for example, Fotball, Baseball and so on. (imagine if the appearance of the buildings change depending on lands value? for example if it's in a low land value zone then its a run down arena with fewer seats and the opposite for high land value.)

Marinas

Zoo's
Waterparks

 

Farms

I would love to be able to make farm towns.  

 

Random stuff
A really big trainstation for industry towns with a lot of tracks, shipmentgoods and maybe even rusty run down trains standing still on some tracks. 

Being able to create big shoppingmalls to attract tourist. 

A better looking airport

Being able to "paint the ground". I hate it when i get tiny patches of green where there should be none. 

Ploppable hotels for tourists

Fountains (both big and small) 

Being able to create big plazas

 

 

This is just some of the things i would like to see added to the game. 

I have no idea if it can be done but there you have it =)

FANTASTIC Mods as of late to All of you involved WOW mondo impressive guy's!!! I"d like to see Fenced & Covered Pedestrian Overpasses.Possibly connections between buildings like skybridges... Also would like to see fences of varing types and be able to pull fences like you would maglev or streets so I can Build fencing any ol way

Hi, and thankyou to everyone who makes these cool mods. What I really want and need is this:

1.Skybridge made to go out of bounds like other Boc buildings. It would be amazing to make sky highways that extend the 3k boundry.

 

2.Maglev and maglev as subway mod made so it can be plopped outside with the 3k mod anywhere and attached.

 

3.Maybe more levels to megatowers. Would only want like 3 more levels up though.

 

4.More buildings like the museum that just came out. I know this will come though.New buildings like this really adds new life.

 

Final question:

I know there is a limit on how much roads and megatowers along side with other buildings you can place before things crash. Things start to crash if you have a developed city with 4 to 5 megatowers and try to add another megatower.
That's why I usually preplan the stuff that needs to be laid down like roads, garbage dumps and other stuff that makes it crash before building up the city to it's max.

Is this hardcoded or could it be possible to extend it so you could have a tad more megatowers before the crash comes.

I would like to ask for a Double Jointed Bus for the Municipal Bus Depot, preferably in this color.

 

Jointed buses are 19 meters, but double jointed buses are 25 meters long, carry 200 people, and are very rare. :)

I know modders have said there's almost no way to fix the AI traffic. Im a CS grad but actually never dealt with a single game (my occupation is IT administration and security :). I'll try a mod later or and try to fix this problem that everyone has. I know that it would be only a script mod to be placed in "simcityuserdata\packages" I think. This should be real easy as I'm not dealing mainly with the graphics. I would have to get someone on here that Is good with graphics to make the vehicles actually SHOW themselves yielding but my mod would start out with the emergency vehicles going THROUGH other cars (Yeah i know its not realistic and would be funny) but it would ease traffic and budgeting for police, fire, and medical without cheating.

 

In the real world, when there is a siren, we all (most) try to YIELD to the siren (People in game should get over for the police cars and STOP at green lights for a fire truck, ambulance, or police). Im not into cheating with the budget of the game; the only mods I have downloaded are Fixes of bugs and additions to help me budget or to keep from wasting space. Yes, I am using the infinite water trick but what cities in the real world (other than africa) run out of water within 3 years? We build cities next to rivers to keep water and, honestly, I was upset when I got into simcity and saw where they took away the water desalinization plant from simcity 2000, to get water from the ocean or the salty rivers.

 

This should be an ONLINE capable mod

 

Speaking of cars going through other cars, this already happens anyway when a bus needs to get to a bus stop where traffic is backed up. The AI traffic needs to be fixed to NOT BLOCK bus stops.

 

ALso, WHY is it that I see ALL traffic in one lane backed up in a 3 lane avenue? This is ridiculous that they don't utilize all the lanes! It's more annoying that they arent backed up because they're waiting to turn right or left.... they're just there for the hell of it! AI traffic needs to get in the right lane to turn right or left lane to tun left of a 3 lane avenue. At X intersections of avenues, they need to take away the middle strip of trees and make a  left turn lane (20m or so) that cars get over, waiting to turn left. Maxis also needs to make a left turn signal for this turn lane and make the lights alternately cycle to allow people in these turn lanes to go while other traffic is stopped. If im turning left, people going parallel to me and in their left turn lane should be allowed to turn left same time I do, as long as they get in the far left lane after turn, so as to not hit me. Come on maxis! the problem with traffic is the AI, not that we dont lay roads correctly!

Hi and first of all, thanks to everyone for all the great mods, that have been created this far.

 

I have a little request:

 

Don't know if it's possible, but it would be great, if you could turn depleted mines into mining industry museums like the 'zeche zollverein'.

For example by plopping a tourism bureau/visitor center nearby - as an extension.

 

The prequisitions for this could be a tourism department in the region and the mine must have been extracting a brief amount of ressources at this point.

The mine will be turned into a landmark and the jobs are reduced. But maybe with more high wealth jobs.

So, any thoughts?

Here's my mod request:

 

How about making the Residential and Commercial buildings from the British, French, and German set ploppable, it will give people more ideas, seeing as you can build cultural buildings without placing the landmark needed or no needing to zone residential or commercial just to get the buildings.

 

Will it ever be possible?

I would like to ask for a mod that removes the music softening that occurs when coming close to specific events in SimCity, like the sound of an engine, construction, trade depot or port, crown, etc, and also that adds the drums that you hear when you have for instance, the bulldozer tool selected.

 

I am secretly hoping that such a mod can cure an issue concerning the beautiful music overseen by EA/Maxis since the release of the downloadable content, Cities of Tomorrow.

 

Since I already posted this issue in the in-game bug report, and on SimCity's forums with no luck, I am now hoping that a modder that loves SimCity's music as much as I do, and also wants to hear the music in full, is willing to give this a thought. :)

You guys have great ideas! I would like to see them in the game one day :).

I'm just wondering why nobody complains about the SC airport. I mean it looks ok as long as you have only 1 runway. But how unrealistic are 2 runways just next to each other...? Is there a possiblility to use kind of 'service roads' for the airport. Even just an option for turning the second runway would makes it look better.

I would like to suggest a fire control mod. Similar to the menu in the regional menu, players can select how many trucks and what kind of trucks to respond to a fire. For example: I will have 2 engines and one ladder respond to a regular fire. (You can't really change what goes to a hazmat fire). Sending multiple trucks to a fire would help out the fire out faster, but you are tying up more apparatus, so if there is a second fire you may not have enough trucks to fulfill your assignment.
