Great works - resources are different between cities

Hi all,

I have 3 cities in my region and have launched the Arcology great work...

Now, when I look at the progress from the 3 cities, I get different numbers for the progress from each city:

city 1:

city 2:

Has anybody else seen this?

Cheerio,

Bernard

And now it finished in 1 city - constructing = 5% while the other cities are still delivering goods :-)

This happens to me as well, and it frustrates me to no end because my cities specializes in multiple goods. There are goods coming in, being produced and going out all within one city (oil>plastic and alloys >processors>tv). I think the game gets confused or what I'm doing is too much for it to calculate what I'm doing. Also, the imports are expensive and I constantly have to micromanage the city's budget.

I am having the same exact issues...but no explanation or answer to your question unfortunately.   Just seems to be another bug of many that EA/Maxis have not acknowledged exists or developed any solution for.

You are definitely not the only one having this issue.  I have an Arcology under construction that routinely, during the same session in the same city, will go from 100% completion of TVs to suddenly only 25% completed.  It will then vary for the entire time.  I even had one city give me the little check-mark for completing alloy to the site, then immediately the site indicated I had only delivered 150/1000 alloy.

    Very confused.

That's the magic of bad synchronization with the servers.

We should all say a big thanks to EA for enforcing us a defective online play...

cmon! Repeat after me... everyone !

    "THAAAAAAAAAAANKS EAAAAA!"

Agree with above I have same issues.  Weird thing is not only does it change as described in images above mine changes within the same city!  I can look at it one minute and nearly all resources are full then the next barely even scratched the surface.  Starting to really piss me off to the point I dont want to play!

how I am sending power to an arcology? I finished it ( private player) but it needs power and water and I have no clue how to send it ( even if I have hundreds of available electricity and water - sandbox :D

Even worse... I'm working on an Int'l Airport and the city I started building it with is the furthest away in that group of 4 from the great works site.  I started building up the nearest city, so I could send material from there instead and speed up the construction process, but when I click on the great works while in the NEW city it asks me to choose which type I want to START building when I know it already has half of its material delivered.  FRUSTRATING!!!!

I've had the same issue with building my Arcology. I've got a private region with 5 cities. Each of the cities had a different state of materials reporting. What I did was go to my rich city and have it send all of the resources. I had a ton of money, over 30 million, so I just bought what I needed (what wasn't already being made), and sat back. After a long bit of time (hours) all of the resources were all sent. It gave me enough time to study how often the server was updated (which wasn't timed to the in-game time). Anyway, once it was built, I then had to make sure that it had power and water. So, of course, I added to the power plant in my rich city to make sure it was bursting with power. I did the same with my water. Being impatient, I went to another city in my region. It was a new city, and there, I noticed that the Arcology hadn't even been selected. After a series of messages, one-by-one the Arcology was built. The approval, the materials, the workers, the power and water, and then boom, the whole thing was working. It also showed that my region has a huge surplus of power and water, so add that to the list that of things that are sporadically updated. The final piece that is out of sync, is the Arcology population  (amount of workers, and students and shoppers). I have one city that shows the Arcology that is fully populated (1 million and random change) while another struggles to get it past the first stage of growth. Now the problem is, the Arcology doesn't really seem to provide any real benefit. It sucks power, and water, but workers, etc., have no apparent impact in my cities (so far).

The only way around this I have found it to build the great work using only one city.  Then after it has built, quiet the game in the correct manner to sync with the server and then reload the game.  When I've done that, all of the other cities in the region see that the great work has been completed and start reiceving the bonuses and such.  Not exactly the most helpful way to build but at least it works I guess.

It can be explained in one sentence:"Bad servers"

Try to load the city, leave it for a while. The stats will update within 30 minutes in most cases

I have experienced all the same issues as all posters above me. The most frustrating thing is that 4/5 cities are contributing to an Intl Airport, but the 5th city, who can't see it btw, it just sees a blank spot and keeps prompting me to build something, is the ore/steel/alloy city. Of course the airport needs a lot of steel and alloy, but I can't contribute...great. I had to convert a coal-mining town into a steel making city just to get some resources out there.
