Trading Resources between a Region?

So I have some oil drilling happening in one city, but I want to make another one of my cities in the same region a major trading hub. Can I trade my oil from one city to the other, then have my trading city sell it to the Global Market with a trade depot? Because I don't really understand how this works and I can't figure it out. Thanks!

I don't think it works like that.

 

From what I've seen, Trade Depots only have three options: 

 

1. Use materials locally.

2. Import materials from the global market.

3. Export materials to the global market.

 

Check the region overview panels to see if there are some different options... but I haven't see any ways to trade materials with just your own region cities.

From what I gathered in my head during the last couple of weeks, you do not have this option exactly because you could turn 1 city into a huge trading hub. Then after having drained one city dry for ressources you could restart it and simply start over, at least that is how I understood it.

I think the best you can do is gift the other city your resources. Set your trade depot with oil to use local, let it build up, than gift it to the city you want to have it, assuming you have storage space. But it doesn't look like you can set up that kind of supply chain.
