Hey SimCity friends I was wondering if any if you would know if SimCity 2013 would work well on the surface pro. Are the specs/graphic chip sufficient? Would the touch interface work? I checked with lord google but i can't seem to find an answer. Surface pro specs: 3rd Gen 1Intel® CoreTM i5 Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000 4GB RAM—Dual Channel Memory Thanks guys 3 more days!

It should be able to run it on the most basic setting.

Though Surface and Surface Pro reviewed horribly and are said to run Windows horribly as well.

Here's in article to help determine how most PC games run on the Surface Pro:

As you can see, it varies widely. You might get away with medium settings on it, but it will almost definitely work, especially if Civilization V does. (provided you have constant WiFi access)

Yes, the Intel 4000 card will meet SimCity's minimum requirements. Just don't expect the game to run as smoothly on the higher end settings. Although the type of GPU is important, a strong processor and RAM will provide the greatest boost to performance. The Surface Pro should be adequate in this regard.

Simcity works excellent on Surface Pro, you can even use pinch and zoom to control, it supports "some" gestures and also your pen to draw roads. Frame rate is decent but of course you can't compare it with your watercooled SLI-ed gaming rig.

Here's the catch, Origin is still working on a patch but in the mean time, to run any EA/Origin games on the Surface Pro, you will need to download this beta release of Origin client, or else you will get a "You can't play this because you are in a virtual environment error"

I have used and can confirm it works, the Surface Pro is quite an amazing gaming machine but too bad, some zombies just get manipulated by reviews before they even try it.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I heard that the next generation of surfaces will be using the new Haswell chips. A friend of mine who works at intel told me they are awesome and the integrated graphics is surprisingly decent. If the rumor is true you might want to hold off getting a surface.
