Yeah, San Diego is really nice. A lot better than LA.
But, then again, I like having 4 seasons so I'll stick with NY.

Now that the Frauenkriche in Dresden is ready restaured, Dresden's skyline (at night) looks really breathtaking6.gif6.gif6.gif

I have noticed some of you have tried to compare NYC to Hong Kong, that is just like comparing lots of money & lots of gold. They are both great, someone did bring up a good point about NYC having all these old building and Hong Kong having these new shiny buildings. The thing with New York and Chicago is that many of the buidings located in these cities are considered master-pieces of the 20th century. These two cities pioneered the skyscraper. Look at the Woolworth Building, Chrysler building, Waldorf-Astoria, New York Life etc.. These are all incredible buildings. Now if you put a new shiny glass building in one of these cities, it has to be placed just right. otherwise it will stand out too much. But now if you look at a newer city like Dubai or...Hong Kong and old 1930's building wouldnt look good there eiheir. You have to look at it both ways I personally like both styles. But too much glass is blinding.

My personal favorites are Chicago and Monaco.

Charlotte,NC has a very dense skyline

I like Charlotte's downtown! I've been down that way, it's a really nice skyline.

charlotte's skyline is an example of a good urban planning. Is Bank of America the tallest building ?

Lived in Miami my whole life, and, if you're out on a boat on Biscayne Bay, the Miami Skyline is awesome.

The pictures of Toronto just haven't done justice yet, so I'll show some of my own. Toronto has one of the most recognisable skylines in the world (a lot thanks to the CN Tower and Skydome), and is altogether a beautiful city.

I think this picture looks really cool. Inner-city (Midtown Manhattan in background) vs. outer-city (Long Island City in foreground).

    lictomanhattan2vw.jpg

I'm gonna need to take a picture of the Brooklyn skyline as seen from between the two bridges myself. I can't find one on the internet.

The best skylines have got to be Hong Kong, for the sheer number of skyscrapers and the density, New York, mainly midtown, for the interesting mix of skyscrapers and London for the unusual, low-density sky line with lots of different, interesting shapes like the square blocks around Canary Wharf, 30 st Mary Axe/Swiss RE, the millennium dome, the London eye, tower bridge, the BT tower, St. Pauls etc.  It is very varied

My favorite european skyline is Frankfurt am Main, Germany:

    Frankfurt.jpg

There is a lot of great US skylines, each one have its own speacial touch.
But since I have to choose, I'll take Miami, because I have experienced myself and I prefer smaller
    cities rather than larger ones:

The best Asian skyline is in Singapore:

I think NYC is the best, but pictures just can't do it justice: the skyline is so long you have to be there and turn your neck to actually experience all of it. And if you take a pic from the north (the Hudson River) or south (NY Bay), it doesn't seem as great, due to the geographic shape of Manhatten.

One of the best views is probably on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) on the Kosciusko Bridge-right after the entrance from the LIE: and with all the traffic, you'll sit there long enough to fully appreciate the whole skyline (probably longer that you want).

I think most cities are ugly just because they're so crowded.
    That's why I like Dubai:

I don't care much for skylines. What interests me is what is down at street level. Whenever i go travelling i can sit at my hotel room window or in the hotel's lobby just watching people going about their daily lives. I particularly love Bangkok and Hong Kong (Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po in particluar because they are such densely populated areas). Rome is also a favourite of mine. It has such a lively street culture!
