Ok Heres A List Of Things They SHould Put In A Sim City 5

1. Fuse It With Sims 3 So You Use Sims 3 Characters and you can use characters to walk around the city also u can go into peoples houses and play sims 3 !

2. Choice Of Building Deisgns. So You Can Choose English, American, European, Japanese/Chinese Buildings

3. More Building Eras. 1900'S 1910'S 1920's up to 2010. then in 2100 you get really futuristic type buildings (that wouild be sikk(good))

4. Actualy Years Not 01 02 03 etc. So You Can Choose A Year To Start (Like Simcity 3000) and you get different buildings invented (like simcity 3000)

5. Country Modes. Like With What I Said In Number 2 But when you choose a coutry it changes road, weather, and some speelings also transport (Different Cars).

6. Auto Disasters. Commected To Number 5 You Have Different Disasters Depenedent on climate but also you can do decide what disaster to have where (just like simcity 4)

7. more Road Options. Basically More Thigns Do Do With Road, as avenue, higway, street, and road are still a bit basic (although much better than simcity 3000)

8. When In Mayor Mode more Realistic/Easier Landscaping Tools. Basically I'd Like The Simcity 3000 Tools Introduce into mayor mode they were easy to use and let u make really accurate ground leveling.

9. Better Viewing Cameras. Basically How you view your city in simcity 4 is basic i would like it to be more like simcity societies in the way you look at your city. Also more realistic view when your in drive mode. i wnat to actually see what its like driving from windscreen view.

10. Ok Number 10 May Be Going Over The Top And May Take Some Serious Developing But.. Relaistic Destruction. When buildings collapes make it vary depending on building and situation. Also if a town has been abandoned it would be really realsitic if over time thay started to collapese and get overgrown with plantys, also maybe the roads could collapse if pipes were under that would be well coool.

11. Ok Now This Maybe ver The Top Too But... Eropsion, Wearign Of Rocks, Cliffs Collapsing by the see that would be super realistic too.

Thats My Ideas For Now - Know I'll Think Of More

Ha New I'd Think Of Another 1

All The Buildings In The Game Can Be Plopable Or Growable so you have a choice

also once you plop a building it grows whereevr youve plopped just like the mcdonalds you can download. you plop it then it grows in the place you plopped it - pretty clever

"Churches (and cemeteries) should grow in residential zones. Since when is it left up to a mayor to decide where these things go?""

Em... not true.

I'm not sure what could be "not true" about it. The first sentence was an opinion, and the second was a (rhetorical) question. Do you mean to say it is a BAD IDEA for churches and cemeteries to grow, or that mayors are usually in charge of making such decisions in real cities?

look mal7798. A religious community wants to build a temple/church/mandir/.... and they propose city authorities to allow them build a religious building. IF they decide to allow they do, otherwise they don't. My neighbooring city is just at the moment negotiating with a large muslim community for building a mosque in the city.

Okay, so you are saying that in the real world, the city government has a say in the building of religious buildings. So when you said "not true" you were referring to my second statement (which implied that the city government has no such say). I was not disagreeing--I just needed you to be more specific.

I still don't like the way the game does it. Perhaps the residents can propose that a religious building go up in a zoned lot and ask the mayor for approval. Or perhaps such a proposal can be handled through the residents themselves and be "understood" to have occurred out-of-game without consulting the mayor. This is how it (apparently) happens in the original Simcity and Simcity 2000 and I preferred it that way.

This is one of my dreams in Sim City

ALL buildings should come up as a proposal to the mayor- OR-

Developers come up with a proposal to build a subdevelopement in the zoned area across town

This would mean that when you click on city hall, a sort of a contract screen would open and you could either accept or deny the proposals

This would be more realistic than buildings sprouting up randomly

GOT ANOTHER. IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF REAL EVENTS IN HISTORY TOOK PLACE. LIKE WORLD WAR II Bombing In English Cities

collapse of one or 2 tall buildings in 2000 and w.e in american cites.

Yes it might be cool. But lil-m you have to stop posting too many times. Don't get impatience about your replies, or topic post in this case.

With this Simcity5 still being undecided, all of us think we should have Simcity5. While others think that should not have Simcity5 because of all the progress we have now. So its like a 50/50. Be reasonable, It takes at-least 3-5 years to make a good game out of the same concept or out of scratch. But I'm still undecided about Simcity5. But some improvements can be done by the community to improve the game. But you can't improve the camera or the regional play can you? If want Simcity5 then have all the new feature and spend 60$ - 50$. If not, then stick with the same game-play.

i want homeless people to live in my slums. then my mayor can help them out by working the soup kitchen.

i also want regions that connect to one another, so when i've filled one up, i can move next door and continue with the same "world."

but above all, i want to be able to select my type(s) of industry and then have my architecture follow suit. for example, mountain towns that depend on timber look different (and would have different types of buildings) than coastal towns that depend on fishing. when you establish a city, this should be one of the first things you have to choose from: type of industry, type of climate, etc.

Hello board people 4.gif

This is my first post here. I am a member of other boards but joined this one because I have an idea for an expansion or incorporation into SC5 and would like more feedback. Actually I included a poll on the other boards and it was received very well but with limited response.

After years of laying on the shelf, I recently dusted off my copy of SimCity 3000 and found I really liked the game. After a couple of weeks I ordered SimCity4 and very happily realized it was not just about building one city. That's my fav gaming concept, something I love about Civ. I have an idea for an expansion. What if you could zone different type farms such as corn, wheat, cotton, etc.? To take this a step farther, what if you had different soil and weather types such that certain crops would only grow well on specific soil types and weather conditions? Of course you would not have to include weather but it would allow for the economy to vary based on years of ideal conditions versus droughts. To make it even more interesting what if these soil types and weather conditions were generated randomly when creating a city and no city would necessarily have every soil type.

Of course this would necessitate trade between the cities and also do something else - cause those "ahhhs" when you click on your soil map and see rich bottomland, ideal for growing corn or drier plateaus for cotton.

Yeah I know all of you who played those trading games years ago are thinking boring micro-management. That is not what I have in mind. Rather than constantly move goods you would simply setup a contract like you do for power or trash. In addition to the RCI indicator you would also have a SD indicator for supply and demand. While all cities would demand all goods, they could get by on a very few and an important element for growth would be how well the city was supplied. I would not get into quantity too much either other than have a percentage of the good for sale. Say if you sold all your corn, then the producing city would obviously suffer. Of course you would need the ability to initiate contracts, unlike the current system.

Just to make things a little more interesting what if the game engine randomly and occasionally created certain industries such as mills that would produce clothing? Now let's assume that industry was not in the city that could grow cotton. More trade. I admit this might seem kinda bland but the devil is in the details. There are many possiblities other than just seeing where something grows well, producing it and selling the excess to your neighbor for big bucks. For one, you would likely have to decide which of your cities would grow large and which remain small because there would likely never be enough of all goods for all cities. Also if weather is included, you would have to decide which would suffer from lack of supply. Rioting in the streets, anyone?

Then there is the idea of trade routes. Although not necessary other than having connections, I think it might be fun and require a bit of strategy to entertain the concept of the shortest route - also the idea that a city would benefit from goods carried thru a city and not used by the city - commerce.

Now if you are getting a little bored with modern skyscrapers, what about a medieval or ancient scenario? I would love to see a camel caravan traveling across a dry and windy desert, winding from oasis to oasis to some ancient port. Of course there you would not build a road but build a trail which would be set down by an adventurer. This notable person(s) would be born randomly in one of your cities and would act just like a road builder. Needless to say his/her birth would be something to celebrate equal to the fireworks on January 1.

Hello Simtropolis,

SimCity Societies was awful and I am hoping that the next incarnation won't be a repeat. In the next SimCity, I'd like to see all of what SimCity 4 currently has plus multi-function lots which can, for example, host residents and commerce at the same time.

What if SimCity were put on Xbox 360 and uses the 360's graphics to their full potential. If this were to happen a mouse-type object would come with the game to make it compatible with the 360. Many of the features that many would want would be part of it, such as free angle building, realistic traffic simulation, of course graphics, many modes of transport, etc. If this were to happen I think SC would be absolutely awesome.

I just started playing, and one thing I can for sure think of is an UNDO button, that refunds your money fully while undoing the last action. Countless times already I have started placing zones down, only to find out that I made a mistake, or the time I accidentally placed a school down in the wrong place, taking two houses with it, and a lot of money for the demolition. Undo is a feature in the Sims 2, so why shouldn't it be here?

Also, there should be park zoning instead of tiles that you plop, and depending on the demographics, the park develops by itself.

Edit: Ah yes, I just remebered. You should be able to use the resouces around you, like mining, logging forests, fishing, and other primary industries.

Welcome to 2009, thread!

Anyways, i think that there should be zoning of the following types:

*Urban-Residential (Projects->Apartments->Lofts->High Rises->Penthouse-topped Skyscrapers)

             -Commercial (Mom n Pop->Home Grown Shops->Department Stores/Malls->Office Buildings->Corporate Headquarters)

             -Industrial (Factories, Warehouses, Indus. Parks)

*Suburban-Residential (Apartments, Townhomes, Single Family Homes, Mansions)

-Commercial (Deparment Stores, Franchises, Specialty Shops)

                   -Industrial (Gravel Pits, Servicing Centres)

*Community- Squares, Centres, Plazas, etc.

What do you think should be added to SimCity 4 or future versions ?

I think they should add new buildings and more types of transportation.

What do you think should be added ? Tell me.

There have been many threads like this, but here is my two cents:

Update the program to account for freight to cross city boundaries. Develop some more commercial buildings that are distribution centers that can be both a source and destination of trucks. Add a new classification of trucks called Delivery Vans or some such. Freight would then be able to go from point of origin to a distribution center, transfer to delivery vans and be delivered to either C or R destinations.

Lose the Rush Hour idea, and do a general traffic simulation of an entire city based on the time of day. This may mean slowing down the clock rate. We should be able to see school buses as distinct from commuter buses as well as ambulances. Add medical emergencies, and even epidemics. Add some bigger hospital buildings with larger radii. Traffic accidents should have casualties, with the resultant police, fire and EMS call outs. Police should also respond to fire calls.

Remove UDI and My Sims. These promos only waste space and computer cycles and are poorly done at best.

The Advisors should not pop-up but put messages only on the ticker, but should be able to be consulted.

More pollution control structures are needed.

Manufacturing should be split into two types: discrete that makes things such as we have now, and continuous process such as oil refineries. Tank farms and pipelines should be added. I am sure one can see the disaster possibilities here. Add resource industries such as mines and oil wells that can be in the country side. Transport from these to manufacturing plants should be provided, including tank trucks. It should be possible to create an open-pit mine with the necessary heavy equipment as a side issue. If one opens such a pit, it needs to be managed, equipment acquired, etc.

Modern power plants should replace the current ones. A riparian water filtration plant and a sewage plant are needed, together with a sewage piping system. The present power towers need to be more modern.

Less primitive construction tools need to be added to mayor mode. It should be possible to dredge harbors and create seawalls ad lib.

Full compatibility with existing plugins or a conversion program.

EDIT; And one more thing: multi-level flowing water (rivers and streams), that can be dammed and used for hydro power.

As A Nonny Moose said, this question has been asked many times before. A lot of my requests for the new Simcity have been answered by the NAM Team, they are amazing. The only request I would have is better graphics and the possiblility of HOV Lanes. Other than that, I'm happy with SC4 as it is.

-Bigger city maps

-Free form building

-3D graphics

-Customizable transportation networks

-More interaction between cities

-CXL style effect radii on civic buildings (instead of unrealistic circles)

I'd also like:

- Movement of the non-working sims (shopping, school, medical appointments, local recreation, tourism)

- Make it more international, not so USA-centered in content

- Include tourism mechanics (large amount of sims going through ports and airports; a T-zoning type)

- Realistic landfills (can be closed and converted to useful land, multilevel garbage stacking)

- Hire the NAM, the CAM and SimPeg teams to work on the game.

I would like to see custom made building styles like from Simgoober allowed.

I would also like less resource requirements needed to run the game. Sometime game is sluggish. A person should not need top line everything to play a game.

I like to see My Sim menus for the buildings where you click and instead of scrolling down you can have like 6 buildings showing across the screen at once then allow you to scroll.

This would make it easy to find things.

I would also like to have a undo button when transforming land.

I agree with him when he said "A person should not need top line everything to play a game." Anyone one should be able to play it even on a low graphics card like i have but still have good in game graphic but dont have street level camrea view only because it takes to much graphic card power it view it. I dont like the way the new cities game series franchies works it not as fun as simcity franchise was and stll is.

I would like to see an expansion, something that includes making our own roads and intersections. A feature that allows us to build buildings at any angle. seeing things the way they are I doubt Maxis come out with a new game.
