I NEED SOMEBODY TO RE.BAT THE INDIANA STAPLE, THE CHASE TOWER! There is one currently in the STEX but it not nearly up to modern day Simtropolis standards (if that makes sense).

You can see that the textures are flat and bland so how about somebody make all of us Hoosiers proud and fix this problem!

If the textures aren't up to your high standards I'd suggest setting the standard and BATing this yourself rather than barking out orders for someone else to do it

I've tried to download the bat tool and other programs, but they simply don't work with my computer. And so I've asked.

The request thread is there for a reason. This board is intended for BATters to showcase their projects, not for endless spam threads filled with requests. Admittedly the request thread is pretty much a dead end, but think about it - if you had the ability to model any building you wanted, would you spend your (often minimal) free time sifting through requests that don't interest you, or would you spend it making what you want?

I mean yes. I would admittedly not care in the least about the B.A.T. request thread, but that Is why I go straight for the Batters themselves! The more I get myself out there the better off i'll be! I understand that you don't want to clutter the forums though. I moderate on a few smaller sites.

Anyway. Maybe I can keep this up for a day or so and then delete it?

It's not the thread that prevents requests from ever being fulfilled. It's the fact that requests seldom (if ever) get fulfilled because no one takes requests, despite the best of intentions for the thread. I can't think of a single BATter offhand who has fulfilled a request from that thread in ages - simply because they're working on their own stuff. They are fulfilling their own "self-requests," so they often have no time for other stuff for other people, no matter what they want or what they say.

So, it's not the exposure that is preventing the requests - it's that no one does them anymore.

I've been a member here since 2005 and made many requests, I ended up learning the BAT myself. Don't waste your time bothering other people. Not everyone can afford to put their precious time into their own creations (much less the actual game), and some anonymous person's requests.

Not to sound harsh, but this isn't the way to go about this. Learn to do it yourself.

BAT requests are like bums hustling for change.

Some people give money to the bums, but most don't. Most people wouldn't be bothered by entertaining change requests from their friends, which is the same with BAT requests. And sometimes BATers will have general ideas of what they want to BAT and they'll ask for help finding something more specific in their thread. But nobody likes unsolicited requests.

Just so you understand why people don't like requests, you want someone to dedicate at least a month of their hobby time so that you can get the BAT you want, but no one has done it yet, so you are now purposefully being obstructive so that your request will get more attention?

Anyway if you're serious about learning how to BAT, post your installation problems in the appropriate thread (if it's gmax the gmax troubleshooting thread, and if 3ds max, then the 3ds max one) and if someone knows the solution to your problem they'll post it. Learning how to make a skyscraper at the quality you'd like would take some time but at the very least you'd be able to make small unique things for your CJ.

Your best shot is to someone actually wanting to BAT that particular building. I am requested often by other Portuguese people to do Portuguese stuff. I may end up batting some of them, but because I like them and want them in game too. So, in the end I may bat them, but it is more because I want to, not because I was requested to.

So, the best you can do is, get the request to the right board and hope someone who likes it too sees it or pm someone who you think might have the same will than you.

Anyway, both are a long shot because the building exists already. I can only remember one case where a existing model was rebated again by a different person, which was Sgt. Pepper's WTC. and he did it because he wanted it, not because someone asked him too.

Well. The reason I want it re batted is because when I have added it to any CJ the poor building got bad reviews. I personally find it to be a beautiful structure, but I guess I will go without it.

Then you should count yourself as incredibly fortunate - not only did your BAT request get fulfilled, but it was created by one of the premier master BATters around. As for lightning striking the same place twice? Who knows...but I wouldn't count on it...

And if you find the Chase Tower to be a beautiful building, then what does it matter what some people say about it in a CJ forum? If you like it, and it's in your CJ, then that's what's important...

OK, I've had more than enough of this. Firstly, this thread is locked.

wraner, if you want to repeat your BAT request, you can do so in the BAT Request thread, just like everybody else. Either that, or I (or one of my colleagues) can append your original post to the request thread, although I must say that it doesn't satisfy the criteria for BAT requests mentioned in the first post of said thread. And no, "but I wanna" is not a criterion that's of any relevance beyond your own person.
