Nice region and a nice start. I like you transportation layout, just a bit... complicated (I am not against this as most of our real city's transport system is haywire) I look forward at the building stage and how you florish your city.

wait a minute, you are worry about the mayor rating goes to red or your city budget? if it is your mayor rating, they just act as a referece for you and it will have no harm done. if it is you budget that goes to red, then you need to spent some time to read through articles thorough out the entire Simtropolis. you could find a couples of them in the OMNIBUS, or you could do a search in forum on how to build a profitable city. hope it give directions to you.

Suggestions on possible grid layout for my city.
yuhhaur replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in SC4 Showcase
grid... it remembers me the first time I saw SC2K's detroit city map. check this out - a grided city layout. the OMNIBUS offers a comprehensive guide on newbie cities with gridded layout, but after I master the simolean earning techniques I found that the grid layout is not always the way I want, especially with the invention of NAM and puzzle pieces... personally I don't really like grid layout in SC4 but some of the time I just have to make use of it. For city downtown CBD, I usually grid them as this would looks nicer and most modern cities are grided. but for suburbs, I prefer to have a mixtures of them as what JaxCoJazz mentioned, diagonal path makes your city looks good. sometimes it also depends on my mood, as I might just grid down the whole 30X30 residential area with a single drag (crazy!) and just let the game do the auto-road. anyway just play what you think it is. grid or no grid is not a matter... -
seems like you are connecting your farm to the town. there was a time when I used up all inches of my land as a cow ranch, and I accidently letting the townies' car to enter and... my moo moo became moo moo carpet!

Whoe, great memory... I remember the last time I have acres of apple fields... and almond is quite profitable. erm... you forgot to put door access to your moo moo barn. next time I guess you'll be building the small airfield with the sprayer I love flying aroung the farm with the plane.

WHOA! thats a mess... questions: 1. what is your version of Simcity4? issit the normal SC4, SC4 with rush hour, or SC4 Deluxe. because from what I know NAM can only run smoothly (less conflicts ) on SC4 ruch hour or Deluxe. 2. what is your version of NAM? so far right now NAM is identify by its release date. the latest NAM had solve various bugs, so you might need to consider getting the latest version. be sure to remove the older version before applying the latest.

AWESOME terraforming. I can't wait for your city of Lavender stands high on this superb region. 1 question: is all your lakes and ponds at sea level? if not, where can I get the beautiful above-sea level water pieces?

Thank you all for the comments. T Wrecks: the commercial tower are far from finish. I just have a rough idea on how the shape of the final building will look like, but without any details . I think I will come back to it after I finish the apartment project. There is one thing I did not mentioned before, that is all the current models are not yet painted with texture. It is only filled with similiar color that I am going to filled with texture during the final model. Maybe I should state the current stages on each project... The following will be my routine of BATting: 1. brainstorming 2. drafting (on a piece of paper) 3. modelling in BAT 4. adding texture 5. nitelight 6. export to Plugin Manager, LE 7. filling with stats 8. in-game preview 9. changing thumbnail (if any) 10. release anyway here's a small update i did after my office work. I fix the [not showing] window/door frames (I forgot to turn them into editable mesh from editable spline ), and I did a small fixes on the roof (notice the problem?) 1a-2. apartment with fixed windows frame I just discover some flaws on the roof and the upper-penthouse wall not showing naturally, shortly after I render the model. If tonight I have time to sit down, I'll fix it. I guess I should remove the basement units' balcony divider. What you guys think? Gimme some suggestion on what roof junks should I put on top of the penthouse units? I currently have two ideas: water tank, satelite dish. any others? current project: 1. apartment - stage 3 2. commercial tower - stage 2.5 (looping) end of log.
