Where in the hard drive could I find my saved cities and buildings for SC3000?(Note:I am not talking about the Maxis-made cities and buildings).

I don't recall there being a set folder for cities you made (I made my own folder to save into). I'm pretty sure the default save location is the same folder as the Maxis stuff.

You can do a search on your computer for " *.sc3 ", which will return all files with the .sc3 file extension, which SC3K used for saved games.

Where can i find SC3000 Cities to download besides sc3000.com. If not, it would be nice to see if anyone can submit their cities on sc3000.com if it is not any trouble by all means.

If you're trying to open the city, then you can double click on the file and SC3kU will open the city (or SC3k) and then you can save it to your city folder in game.

I'm sure you've found it, but if it's a city or a map here's the direct linky for where it goes: SimCity 3000 Cities & Maps

I will take a look. I also did went to http://www.sc3000.com/cities/ which worked the first time. But now that site is not working correctly

That is one of ours and I get an error too. I'll notify Dirktator (the site owner) and hopefully he can give it a whack to make it play nice.

Thanks for reporting, and this happened to be a recently occurring issue too. As these sites use an older web technology framework in ColdFusion, it's possible something has tripped out on the database side. I also receive an error, along with on SC4Ever.com (which is on the same hosting setup).

As follows:

@CrestwoodRocks

Good news. Dirk (our Webmaster) fixed the issue, meaning both SC3000.com and SC4Ever.com should now be back fully operational again as they were.

Looking forward to see any saved cities for SC3K you may wish to share with the community. *:)

@CrestwoodRocks

I just went to that linky and the page loads ok for me. Did that come up after clicking one of the cities on that page? And does it happen every time? It will help if we know the exact linky to click that causes that message.

Since those sites are no longer really maintained, I would suggest you make them entirely static (and there are search engines for static sites too, if you want to keep the search boxes)

and place them behind Cloudflare like you did for Simtropolis.com, enabling its cache and setting long Edge Cache TTL.

Problem is they are already damaged in places, I volunteered to copy all the articles over to the omnibus and some of them are ok, others I've been able to patch together using the Wayback Machine and I've just hit a section in the SC3000 site that looks like the content from a number of articles is gone for good, so took a break from that site and started copying articles from the SC4 site, its in a bit better shape but I've already had to patch a few of its articles together using the Wayback.

They are also here on this site as a single zip file

@CorinaMarie   deserves a thumbs from everyone for doing this as there are about ten thousand files in the zip and it must have taken ages to download  them all.

:thumb:

Also on a much smaller scale have been download all the files from the SC3000.com site along with all the articles, most of the articles are now in the omnibus got about 50 left to move across as for the files (SimCity 2000 = 214 files and SimCity 3000 = 1305 files)

The files have been passed over to the staff here, long term I think they will end up somewhere on Simtropolis
