I didnt know there were so many varietys. i found some others in this thread too. But i cant find the ones ive seen people use in their c.j's

i was looking for the ones that look like normal tracks and are on grassy dirty lots and have ones that have truck trailers parked on them, in other words look industrial.

Like these only on grass:

The links on page 50, for 211's track set, say the files are no longer available.

Yeah, but it's still on the site. Must have been moved or something. Look here: http://hide-inoki.com/bbs/archives/sc4_0449.html

There are two downloads - one with the track pieces and one with the stations.

those arent very good, maybe their not done. I know why the scrnshots were zoomed out 26.gif

I guessed maybe i'd be missing a texture or something, but from the creators screenshots that doesnt seem to be the case.

Heres what those look like up close:

An interesting release from NOB...

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//avenueside.jpg align=baseline>

Ploppable, transit enabled service lanes for avenues, with bus stops, parks or parking. Commercial (not residential) zones will develop along them like regular roads, as shown in the pic below:

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//test_313.jpg align=baseline>

Also works as road access for civic buildings and RCI ploppables. Transit-enabled for roads - looks best with the euro road textures mod.

Requires updated version of his Ftexture file: http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Ftexture.dat

Too bad the BAT's throughout this thread are not available on the STEX. Particularly the Cathedral of St. Mark's as it seems there are still lots of people asking for it.

I hope these Japanese BAT'ers realize how much we appreciate their work. I wish I could read/write Japanese so I could comment on their forums. Awesome work!

Isn't that the one from Venice? If so, yes people ask about it all the time. There's a pic of it in the mosaic at the top of the first post on page one but it hasn't been available for download for a long time. No idea why...

I hope it does come available though....shame it isn't at the moment

This is the one , yeah? 6.gif

Mr Piggy: I'm sorry to say, but those are not available anymore. KEI how made them, has taken them of his page. Both of them, the church and the tower.

I have no idea what they are but they apear to be some bats that make your city look to be in a futuristic war. I don't know anything else about them, but maby eddiem might be able to tell us more.

They look very cool... Would be incredibly great if you wnated them for a war... Maybe Chamount... In the future would want such a thing.......

I most certainly know I would...

Oh......and yeah... great find with the new Rail to Subway.. 2.gif

An addition to 211's earlier rail-to-subway transition - a subway-to-rail station. Includes eye candy sunken rail lot.

Station is in the other transport menu. Sunken rail lot is in the parks menu, near the rail-to-subway transition.

Ever since I've been using NOB's GLR tram set his Astrum EL-Rail train has vanished. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it intentional? The trams from the BSC SFBT tram set still appear.

And about his avenue service lanes - how do I connect them as in the pictures above (p52)? I've tried roads, avenues and and one way roads, but nothing worked.

GLR is an adaptation of the el-train network and the game sees them the same. You can really only use GLR and el-train together in your cities if you can find a compromise train skin that looks good on both networks. In this case, NOB's trams are overriding the Astrum Line as the vehicle the game recognizes for the GLR/elevated rail network. The SFBT set still show because those vehicles are based on the little green track checker automata, rather than the elevated train engine and car, and do not conflict with NOB's tram set. Unlike NOB's trams or the Astrum Line, the SFBT trams are not generated according to network usage but are simply spawned at random by the stations to which they're attached.

As for the avenue service lanes, you need two things to get them to look exactly like NOB's pictures - the NAM and the euro-road textures mod. The lanes are transit enabled for roads only. The euro-road textures mod replaces the US-style yellow divider on roads with a white one, as you see in the pic. Run the road two tiles beyond each end of the ploppable lane and, from the second tile, connect the road to the avenue. The NAM makes this kind of diagonal intersection possible. That said, I haven't actually tried this, so if I'm wrong, let me know...

EDIT: Yeah, it works. Do the roads first. You may have to bulldoze back one tile to get them the length you want.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//avenues%201.JPG align=baseline>

Then run the avenue through. Note - I do not use the euro-road textures mod.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//avenues%202.JPG align=baseline>

Don't know why he did them for roads and not one-way streets. You do get some traffic going the wrong way on the diagonals, as a result.

Thanks!

Well, I had thought that maybe since the pack includes several different trams that don't interfere with each other, maybe they wouldn't interfere with the Astrum neither. Especially since they're all made by the same person. Well, guess I'll have to stick to the SFBT ones then.

About the service lane - I could have sworn I had tried roads as well. Anyway - it works now (althought it's a little complicated ...), so nevermind.

Wow pnorrell, NOB's hospital is among the most beautiful ones I ever seen. Some parts have a ninja boulevard style! Do you have some basic stats at hand? If not, I'll check with SC4 tools later...

Thanks.

Thanks.

The only stats NOB lists are: radius - 1,200m (same as the central police station on previous page of this thread), capacity - 12,000. If you like the style, remember that he's also got a fire station that goes with the police and hospital in the same set. Now that I look, I see the fire station was also updated yesterday...

For some odd reason, the Police Station you mentioned on the other page doesn't show up in my game.  I've looked everywhere... any reasons this could be?
