A little late to the topic, but from what I seen in the 2 posts above me, are they finally including subway now?. If so, than that makes me very happy. Quite a bit late, yes, but I am not complaining by any means. That's for sure. Hope it is true!.

No. They are clearly not going to be be implementing and testing subways in the time before launch. Subways will only appear as part of a future release (and will probably not be part of a free upgrade).

The info came from the community day, they said they were looking into it but had UI and tech issues. They made NO promises, but they did not say if it would be free or paid if it did come to the game. I did not say they would appear, I said that they would only be part of a future release. Perhaps my phrasing was unclear. I was also making a guess that they would not introduce a major new feature without charging for it. Which is not unreasonable given the DLC they charge for in other games.

I think, that if you are gonna use the same name as a previous title, that its unreasonable to charge for things in the new item that were in the previous version. Even if you want to call it a reboot or whatever, its still of poor taste. I mean if they want to piggy back on the name recognition of the Simcity brand, then they should provide the basic tools of a simcity game. Everything that existed in the basic release version of SC4 should be in the game free of charge. Everything that came in SC3 should of been in SC4 etc etc.

I have no problem if they wanted to start over....but they should of not used the simcity name for this game..... Fact is this game should of been called Simcity: Societies 2, but the name is too toxic. I can understand their reasoning, but it doesnt mean it isnt a cheap move.

Oh, come on. Features disappear in most sequels. You could build above sea level water in SC3K. That wasn't possible in SC4. You could build archologies in SC2K. That was absent in SC3K and SC4 and is only now returning. Why confine this to SimCity games? Civilisation V removed religion (although it returned in an expansion) and it removed the stacking of units which had been present since the series' inception among many other features. There is probably no sequel where at least one feature of the previous game has been removed. You're entitled to your opinion that this is unreasonable, but that doesn't really line up at all with the reality of game development.

Something from today's community day ... They are looking into subways, but they have ui and tech issues. No promises but they hope to have them working at some point.

That's good to hear and in the meantime I am perfectly happy with the new streetcars.

I like the inclusion of trams seeing as there is such a limit of transit options in the new game, it is nice to see them included as a first for the series.

I found myself missing terraforming a lot. several times i found a plopable one lil smidge short on a coast only to know i couldnt do a damn thing about it. I also noticed the roads for some reason love to build themselves sometimes on lil plateaus sometimes causing massive zoning issues.

Bridges for avenues should not be suspension if it is short, it just doesn't make sense. Also you really don't see suspension bridges on land unless it is crossing a deep valley.

Can anyone tell me how I solve major traffic jams? I have them on my streetcar avenues, which is the highest we can go. Not sure how to redirect or ease the flow of traffic... Thanks in advance!

that bridge is deplorable... come ON, really!?!???!

Anyway,  traffic is still pretty much broken.  Yes they released a patch to try to help.

But the fact of the matter remains, emergency vehicles still do not take any sort of priority and they ALL go the SAME event, even if you have multiples going on at the same time.

Also, they don't do U-turns mid road.  No real-life ambulance or fire truck is going to wait to get to an intersection to do a u-turn if there's no physical median in the way and the road is wide enough.

if you "follow" an emergency or utility vehicle around for any length of time, you'll see just how broken the whole system is.

(actually, you can just follow the zots in power or water view.  it's the same thing... broken)

Yea I have pretty much given up on Avenues. They seem so inefficient because vehicles can't make left hand turns and have to go to the end and make a U turn. With all of the AI trying to go to the same spot it just makes your city so inefficient. I haven't tried a city with only high density streets yet but my last city was a disaster after about 150k residents.

SImcity 2013 Needs Freeways Inside The City... SC4 Had Them.. Don't Forget About The Real Players. Want A Simcity Not A SimTown... More Transportation Options

Maybe if you pay another 60$ EA will let you have a metro line in your city... Untill Zilla destroys it, then you have to purchase it all over again.

Perhaps you could also purchase the Metropolis DLC for another 80$. This will add 2 extra square miles of building space to your "city". It's going to be so awesome, and so social...(ist)
