I really hoped for a great new simcity, In my opinion from everything that maxis has said and showed Simcity 4 is allot better than the new simcity, especially with all the mods like the NAM and RHW. And seeing the prices of this new game I am sure that i wont be buying it anytime soon.

I think around €50 would be fine, but I won't be buying the online version. I prefer to have the game on a disk rather then downloadable.

Can't answer the poll; for me it totally depends of the quality of the game.

I'd gladly pay 100 € or more for good stuff

But if it's bad or average then... nothing. Just skip it.

I changed my mind, $40 is now my limit, which is 50% off.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

yeah brynhyfryd, this latest news has put this game in a deep gorge that looks to ultimately make this game a flop on release. That what they get for screwing with a simcity title, well deserved on there part.

I have a hard time convincing myself to pay more than $60 CAD for any game (standard price for new releases here). A game would have to be REALLY good for me to pay more than that, and this game does not seem that way so far....

Nothing, bot buying.

I'll pay 80 bucks to who ever can crack the SC4 code tho.

From what we've seen so far, I would probably pay $25 CAD, tops. Make cities bigger and I would up that to $40. Remove all ties to Origin and make the cities bigger and I would probably pay the full price.

As it stands right now, not much...

Based on what is to be expected of SC5, I believe that the game is worth under $10.

No 100% offline single player, no large-scale terraforming, very limited city sizes, and many other reasons are why even $10 is too much for me.

If EA were not to screw up in the name of greed, then I would have increased the amount of money that I am willing to pay for the game.

Its probably worth about $50 - $60. Alot of you are over exaggerating. Sure its missing some features, and I'm not happy too. But it still seems like a fun game. Can we please be a little bit more positive?

Personally, I believe most video games cost 75% too much. No one should pay more than $25 (€20 or £16) for any of these games. The companies are just out to rip us off. Seeing as there is no terraforming, no custom content, and mandatory multiplayer (I bet you this will be almost exactly like SimCity Social) I don't plan on buying this game at all.

I cancelled my preorder. Initially I was perfectly willing to invest 100 dollars into what I felt to be a progressive idea, resurrecting the Simcity franchise. Then I learnt what we all learned and that figure dropped to zero.

If $80 US dollars is about €65 Euros, why do we have to pay 80 Euros for the digital deluxe edition? Anyway, i will buy the deluxe edition because, i want to have european buildings and transports in my cities.

I agree. And I'll buy the digital deluxe edition because I want to build a futuristic London in SimCity 2013 (I'm not even European, but I like London).

Good luck with that, if the tile sizes are only 2x2km you will have a hard time building London, it just won't fit... or any other large city, and since there is all that wasted land between cities, you can't even build 2 cities close to each other to give the illusion of one large city.

Its the biggest downfall of the game. Other people complain about multiplayer and online play, I'm actually excited- gives some excitement to the game, and some complain no terraforming- and i'm ok with the feature being lost. I'm generally optimistic about this game, but the way they manage the regions is a HUGE downside to me.

I can understand why. They want to include "great works" that everyone benefits from in a region, and that's the reason for the space in between. But honestly, I would want them to just get rid of the space in between- and have the players collaborate on the where to place these "great works" maxis is so concerned about.

This is a big problem. In my opinion, Maxis could increase the maps, making them equal to the large maps in SimCity 4. I also think it could be a space between the cities to build the "great works" as long as the maps were large enough to build a metropolis.

$60 US dollars tops. But they would have to do a very good job convincing me to buy it. Because right now I have no plans to. I saw the pre-order prices too and it immediately turned me off.

What I think EA plans to do is hilariously overprice the game initially as part of its way to pay for the online servers. Then it'll drop the price after some months.

where is the, "they need to pay me" option?

I was wondering the same thing. As the game currently stands, I wouldn't even spend the time it would take to download a free copy (by whatever means).

Back when Will Wright first wrote Sim City, EA turned it down as being "an unplayable game".

Now, I'm turning EA's so-called 'Sim City' down for truly being an unplayable game.

When I heard about it and pictured a true successor to SC4? I would have paid over 100 euros easily to get my hands on that game. Now? Nothing.
