Take a look at the Metacritic scores. A whole bunch of perfect scores, a lot of 90+ scores and one score of 70, which incidentally is one of the worst reviews I've read in a while. 

 

And thank the heavens, Rockstar has finally introduced a load of checkpoints in missions! I should have pre ordered it. Now I have to wait for weeks because its sold out everywhere

Picked up the game yesterday. Ive been playing it since. It is the best GTA game EVER! 

 

Like so far Ive not encountered a single thing that annoyed me in any way. Every minute in this game so far has been an extremely positive experience. And thats something not a whole lot of other games have managed to accomplish.

there's busses but idk if you can ride passenger on them, from what I've seen so far, they just drive around.

 

but you can ride the light rail system for sure. it's a mix of ground light rail and subway like it was in IV

Los Santos Transit has a subway/LRT network. Its not very well utilized, but is pretty extensive. The subway is something people on the radio stations talk about. "We should stop using taxpayer money to fund the subway extension but rather use it to subsidize the oil industry and bail out the car manufacturers."

 

Los Santos Transit also has commercials saying that you can ride the trains even if you're not a hobo or a degenerate.

My only complaint with the game is that I get frame-rate drops when there's too much crap going on. Normally when I'm driving really fast the game simply can't keep up. Also underwater in the sub. I have the PS3 version.

Did you get the PSN version or the normal one with the disk? I know that the PSN version suffers from lag because the game was designed to stream from both the HDD and the disk. If it only streams from the HDD the old hardware simply can't keep up.

I really wish I could record some footage. Have had some crazy moments/deaths I would like to share... but you need to shell out $100 for a capture card. Not worth it IMO.

there should be an auto-record thingy that automatically keeps your last 30 seconds of gameplay which you can trigger at any point to be saved as a vid.

Is there any way to disconnect the camera on the phone from Rockstar socialclub? I actually failed missions because the socialclub is completely overloaded and the camera phone won't work because of it. 

 

 

And the game managed to make me feel bad about myself. I handed a hitchhiker over to those Altruism sect people and I actually felt bad about it. I think my next action as Trevor is going to be parachuting right into their camp and killing them all.

That shouldn't be a problem afaik.

I played the first few days w/o connection simply because my auto-login to psn was sort of disabled and I had no problem with missions that require taking pictures.

But you're right, that's quite a hassle with social club these days... but yeah no wonders, that has to be expected...

 

And the game managed to make me feel bad about myself. I handed a hitchhiker over to those Altruism sect people and I actually felt bad about it. I think my next action as Trevor is going to be parachuting right into their camp and killing them all. 

I also only delivered one hitchhiking mission to the altruists... sort of hate these buggers but wanted to do it to have it done.

as for attacking them, take you're time

you'll get to take a fullblown attack to them later in the game

 

 

anyways, maybe you didn't know this already, but GTA blew records again.

not just did it cash in over 0.8billion dollars in the first 24hrs, it also sold 13million copies in that time.

a figure, one must know, GTA IV needed a year to achieve.

maybe that explains the problems with the social club connections

I believe its now the highest grossing piece of entertainment media ever. I mean, it even blew out all the boxoffice records of the most popular movies ever. 1 billion dollars sold in 3 days or something. 

 

And yeah, I had no problem taking pictures at first as well. But now, when I try to set up the camera on the phone, it just doesn't work. It will try connecting to the social club, I will then get a message that it failed, and it will close down the camera completely. 

 

Btw, is it possible to have a radio station with my own music? And have a default radio station? Im beginning to get annoyed with all the gangsta rap every time I get in my car

haven't heard about custom radio stations yet, that's usually a pc thing tho.

 

I find the audio options in general pretty poor, not just for radio. I wish I could finetune output volume, speech is just too damn loud compared to everything else, even tho voice boost is at 0.

anyways, I know in older gtas, you could set radio to be random or automatically the same station you last listened to but I can't remember seeing such an option in V.

but then again, I have the music off anyways so...

anyways, I totally love the line of sight thing they did to the cops. once they go to search mode you can basically hide away right around the corner, they don't see you if they don't look around the corner. awesome.

robbed a gruppe sechs vehicle in paleto bay and took a hideout in the training tower at the fire station, ground floor, they ran right past me and didn't see me for they didn't look

Yeah, it works nice if you are in a car, but I stole the army helicopter (the small one with the guns) and it took me forever to get rid of the cops. It kept spawning police helicopters right in front of me so it was really difficult to remain out of sight long enough to get rid of them for good. And its not like you can easily park your helicopter somewhere covered where the police helicopters can't see you
