I was thinking about giving the pc version a try but now that more facts are out, I'll definitely gonna get it (again)...

I am for sure going to get it for ps4. If there were games coming out this fall that I was interested in I'd hold off until the price drops but since there aren't I'm going to pick it up day 1.

I wouldn't expect the price of a game like GTAV to drop very quickly at all. Major titles don't really lose value very fast.

 

For example, I bought the 360 version of it 7 months after its release and still paid the full $59.99 for it.

I remember last year closer to Christmas and a bit after it was selling for like 40$ at gamestop for a while, but by then it had been out for 2 or 3 months.

I want to but first I'll need a better pc. I'm pretty sure my current pc won't be able to handle it. 

 

Since I don't have a PS4 yet and still am reluctant to buy one for the lack of games I'm interested in, all I can do is get it for PC.

My GPU is slowly turning into a bottleneck anyway so i guess I'm not too far away from an upgrade here.

My bragging ego and also my bank account are flirting dead-on with a Titan Black but I guess by the time V comes to stores, there will be something solid release-wise on the heavily rumored 980ti which is said to beat the Titan Black with ease... so let's se what's what in 2 months time.

Either way I'll keep my good ole 560ti for dedicated physx.

Also, I have a nuclear reactor to produce enough power for this setup.

 

Only thing that really bothers me about the PC version is the assumed Denuvo DRM so I really have to buy the game again lol

j/k I can see why R* decided to go for this yet uncracked DRM... I just hope it doesn't screw up everything like securom did and that they don't impose an activation limit. I'm the fiddling kind of pc guy so every now and then I have to start from scratch software wise

Hehehe, well as poor student with not much of income I doubt I can afford that kind of hardware. I'm also not really interested in getting a next gen console yet, given the lack of good games and their general inferiority towards the pc releases. So I guess Im just gonna save some money and spend my first paycheck whenever I get an actual job, on getting a new pc. With a little luck GTA5 is by then cheaper anyways. 

 

 

All that said, I am a little annoyed with the fact that they are basically screwing the early adopters on the last gens over. I had hoped they at least would come up with some extra content for the singleplayer or something rather than focus on turning the game into a crappy FPS open world game with better graphics for the next gen. I fear that if they are ever gonna produce new singleplayer content, it will be exclusively for the next gens.

Yes I wonder what'll happen with all the content on the "old" platforms.

I read somewhere that there will be no discrepancy between "V1" and "V2" but that would mean that a lot of V2 only content (next to the extra content for returning players like myself and the obvious changes like fps and better overall fidelty, there's also a long list of new content which has not yet been confirmed for V1) has to be patched into V1 to pull up par with the relaunch which I doubt would happen. On the bottom line this means that all the extra content can't be considered for mission design IF the the above statement can be considered valid information...

and this would be a real downer for V2 as this would render all the new vehicles (32 according to CVG) and the new animals (>20 according to R*) and weapons pretty much a benefit rather than an obligation.

Again, this is based on the fact that I can't remember seeing any solid news confirming that the non-exclusive additional content will definitely be ported to V1.

I hardly think they're screwing anyone over. They delivered a solid product for last gen. They didn't charge for multiplayer DLC and they didn't have a silly seasons pass to sell you stuff they cut from the game like Ubisoft does.

 

There is extra content for single player in the new version. It's possible they'll have a DLC update for last gen, but I think they'll wait a bit to release it in order to motivate people to get the new version.

 

They didn't turn it into a "crappy FPS", it is only an option. I'm very excited for the FPS mode mainly because I've always wanted to have an in-vehicle view - it's gonna be so awesome. Can't wait to immerse myself in that world again. 

 

The one thing I'm upset with R* over is the fact that they're going to release this new version without fully delivering on the promise of the original, that being heists in online multiplayer.

 

It's true that current gen is lacking games, but I bought my PS4 in anticipation of all the great games coming out in 2015. I may have jumped the gun a little, but whatev. I currently own Alien: Isolation and Last of Us Remastered which both look great and are fantastic games. My friend also lent me Infamous Second Son which I was quite surprised with. I never really liked the Infamous franchise, the first game bored me to death, but Second Son was quite fun and the graphics were great. Assassin's Creed Unity looks very pretty, but I would never buy a Ubisoft game at full price manly because I've got some beef with that company.

 

PCs have always had and are always going to have better graphics than consoles, but consoles have some amazing exclusive games that aren't on PC. I'm really looking forward to The Order 1886, Uncharted 4, Last of Us 2, Rime, and Last Guardian, all of which will most likely never see release on PC. More than half of my collection of games from last gen never got a PC release.

Nah but it bugs me that I need an entirely new console in order to get the new content. Especially since the game is one of the best selling games ever. Show a little loyalty to your customer and give them new content rather than make them buy the entire game again on a new platform. 

 

And meh, PC has its own exclusives. Each platform has its own exclusives. But for me, I think a PC lasts longer, has better multifunctionality and yeah, better hardware resulting in better performance. I probably still buy a Xbox1 at some point for Halo 5, but yeah, new pc has priority. Also because my current pc is 5,5 years old now.

Next gen GTA is looking pretty solid, but since I don't have a PS4 that's not gonna happen for a while. Heh.

 

While I love PC games and PC exclusives (i.e. SC4 lol), the problem for me with games like Skyrim or GTAV on PC is that you need a monster computer for it to look better than consoles and still run at an acceptable FPS. I guess that's why I opt for consoles when it comes to high detail games like GTA (don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not saying my 360 gives me amazing graphics or anything like that).

 

Besides the lack of funds, I'm also not getting a PS4 yet because the only two games that have caught my eye so far are GTAV and TLoU Ramastered (Well, I have a 360 so I missed out on the original one ).

 

All this talk about the games... why not talk about the content? I'm curious, what are you all's favorite non-super/sportscar, non-sedan vehicle (i.e. non-mainstream )? I'm not gonna lie, mine's the Phantom (18 wheeler).

I like the airplanes. I just love flying about without a real purpose. Or maybe try some insane stunt like trying to fly through the city center with like the gulfstream jet. 

 

Or assault the Altruist compound with an attack helicopter while humming 'ride of the valkyries' to myself

I like the Bifta and that off road vehicle you get from Ron at the end of the game.

I'm also a huge fan of flying. I love doing crazy stunts like flying under bridges and trying crazy sh*t in general. I designed a lot of air races in multiplayer.

Oyus, flying the planes is quite fun. I think my favorite is trying to land successfully with broken engines and no landing gear .

Nice flying. I hope to capture some cool stuff when I've got it on PS4. Not a fan of filming off screen, it looks ugly. I've haven't tried doing all the stuff in that vid, but I'd hardly consider myself an amateur pilot.

Wow,seems like the classic Blista is back again.Was kinda bummed when i saw that in the PS 3 Version they replaced the 80s style Blista (based on the Honda CRX) with a modern Blista (based on the newest Honda Civic).

Got the PS4 version and been playin the crap out of it for the past few days. First person mode is really fun but takes a little while to get used to. Some people are complaining that the controls for 1st person are janky and floaty but I don't really think so. You can do most things in 1st person but some things are tougher to do like using a cargobob. One of my favorite things about 1st person is that it makes everything so big. You really get a sense of the scale. Just walking down the street is a whole new experience. Graphics are great but not perfect. There is still some pop-in here and there. Still, everything looks quite crisp. The increased traffic makes the city feel denser but it doesn't get in the way. So far I've noticed some new challenges like air races and muscle car races but I haven't tried them yet. The stock market is a bit weird or it was when I tried the 1st Lester Assassination mission. You're supposed to invest in BettaPharmaceuticals and it is supposed to go up to 80% but I did it multiple times and it never went over 21%. Then you're supposed to invest in Bilkington and get an 80% return, but it never goes over 45%.
