The upper left buildings were actually made by JaWood and Oneil_1.

Well, they should be grouped. Thats what I do, to keep things neat.

anyways, back on topic... i rendered the small building again and still couldn't get the lights to work~! but this time i will randomize night windows again. i think what happend was i randomized the nite windows then i changed the color, so that might have screwed it up. but i processed the taller one fine, i might want to do some fixing on it though...

here's a rough draft on a local building... the 7th tallest building in seattle! it's not exactly to scale, but this it looks pretty good i think 3.gif

Nice. You can make even the most repulsive concepts look great!

[edit] It's based on Bank of America Fifth Avenue Plaza in Seattle, and it is the 10th tallest, according to Emporis.

thanks guys!

vid and DT, i know this isn't the most amazing building, but it is very realistic, almost every major city has a box like this. so hopefuly this will make city more realistic. since i've really been liking the look of the boxy building in my cities lately, so lets just hope my box phase is only temporary lol 18.gif

I love it!! Boxy building are very cool ... what city doesn't have them? For every Empire State Building or Library Tower there are dozens of buildings like this surrounding them ... great job, keep up the good work, and thanks for bating!!! :)

Equinox, roof junk isn't everything! but it does help the building look more realistic, and i have added lots to it since the last pic, i'll post pics of my updates on the BOA building after i do a few more things with it 19.gif.

thanks So2thaBored! i totally agree, and i don't think we have enough (good quality) boxy buildings on the stex. so i'll help fill in the gap.

this building is right on the corner of the Seafirst/BOA building that maxis made, so we can start making our own mini seattle after this one haha, ok, maybe need a few more buildings...

in other news, i have PICS of the Summit buildings B and C, i finally got the nite lites to work on building B, and i'm thinking about doing some more work for the roof part on building C, what do you all think?

Well, if you look at the top, the glass has a bluish hue. I think you should go with that.

JT: I like what is on the building already. Its not bad at all, it gives it a since of realization. Also it is not over done! I would have to agree with you JT that it does look better than one solid color. I believe if you did make it one solid color the building would seem as it were a huge wall of blue steel.

DT, i like it now, it's a graduated dark to light. the reflection isn't that noticeable unless you're zoomed up to the max (like the previous pic).

thanks crazyarchitect and mcarch! i am shooting for realism on this one. just a modest boxy building. i will make this a CO$$

and i think im finished with this one!

Jt: I would rather use my hands and my own 3D creative brain in designing. I find using a computer to create things limits what I am accomplish. That is just me though!

I Love what you guys do! I will always state my honest opinion on whether or not something looks right or wrong!

Your Bank of America Plaza looks great! It makes the city you place it in seem more realistic!
