Has anyone played the board game version of Civilization? My self and two others took it on this weekend. It took 7 hours. That's way too long. It was fun though... until I began falling asleep at the table.

With all this talk of computers, I suppose I'll mention I'm towards the end of my research phase and will be buying a new laptop shortly.

Lastly, Pittsburgh is in a rat fink mood. That's why I hate when our team loses. Everyone acts like a 5 year old because of it. This will last all week.

2222. Epic number.

Cheers for the response.

Is Civilisation like the board game risk? (Or landgrab to chat frequenters)

And im now officially proud of myself: i made a redstone circuit in minecraft that played tubular bells.

2223 (semi-epic number)

I've heard a lot of people talking about Minecraft - in a very positive way, actually. How good is the game really, on a scale from 1 - 10 (1 is worst, 10 is best)? I'm considering to try it out...

2224 (not really epic at all)

Minecraft....It sounds like an interesting game but I wouldn't have the patience for it....

Civilization is a turn based game, like Risk/Landgrab, but you are not constantly at war and you have more things to do than control armies. (also if you go to war then you have side effects of it and it's possible to take down the largest empire in the game when your microscopic)

The PS3 one was so...simple, compared to Civ III Complete. And I think I prefer Civ III to Civ V, so yea...that's all I have to say about it.

@Blue You wont believe this. But someone recreated that using note blocks in minecraft. Ill have to edit this with a vid when i find it. ( Not on youtube i dont think, i found it researching)

Minecraft seems like a fun game to some but not me. I played Civ III complete and Civ IV.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

That song goes "Bye bye, Miss American Pie, my Chevy hit a levy but the levy was dry," ... "those good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye singing 'this will be the day that I die'..."

@Seattle, it's "Bye, bye, Miss American Pie, drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry, and good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye singing, "This will be the day that I die, this will be the day that I die" *guitar pics up*

And I'd always thought that song mention Vladimir Lenin until I read the lyrics somewhere and noticed it was Lennon, as in John. Made a bit more sense then.

The source of the rumour may be a parody article in The Umpteenth Times, titled "Weird" Al Satirizes Wu-Tang Clan, Funeral Held Saturday.

    Can't link, contains swearing.
