Omar Vizquel lasted till he was 44, It isn't impossible to believe he would play utility backup in order to reach at least 4,000, its the same way Rose got there, he hung around well past his time however he got to pencil himself in.

 

Although Jeter has more hits right now then Rose had at his age.

 

@Muck, I really am hoping that if by August 31st, (the last day players are eligible for the postseason) the Braves are in the thick of things that Chipper will return to try to get a ring, might be a pipe dream but isn't out of the question.
