I more just went from what I believe most Simtrop users do: no posts (except some help) and only on the ST to getting the almost 900 posts I have.  It's not a lot, but it's still more than I think most users have.

Interesting thing to note: when you look at the users on this site who have the most posts, there is something they tend to have in common: they post a lot earlier on and then later slow down. Nonny, however, is a blatant exception: his posting rate in the past few years is faster than it ever was previously.

Of course, it's easy enough to explain why: most people when they register here are in high school and then as they grow older school, careers, spouses, and children come about, and they don't have as much time on their hands to post on a forum about SimCity. Nonny, meanwhile, is at the opposite end of his life and now has more time on his hands than he did before now that he's retired, his kids have moved out, and his wife is dead.

Which just goes to show you, the middle of your life is when you have the most obligations and the least free time.

I think my post rate is somewhat cyclic - I have times when I post a lot, and other times where I don't post anything for a while.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Interesting observation, makes sense too much going on at once, start out fast slow down then back till the end.

That is of course if ST is still here by then :P

My posting rate has gone up and down over the years (mostly as a result of my varying enthusiasm for participating in forum games), but it has never gone away completely.

The forums I tend to frequent have changed over time. I've noticed I spend more time in Current Events than I used to.

Well, at least I only have 3 exams this semester between 4 subjects.

When I was in high school, I only took two honors courses. Honors Junior Art (which became Honors Senior Art) and Advanced Placement Gym. Yup. The two honors courses I took were art and gym. I will never forget the teachers that taught those courses.

Honors courses I took in high school: zero.

See, that was me being lazy and wanting to easy mode by way through high school. I was all like, "why make it harder than it has to be?" :P

I'm not sure we had honours courses in my education system. I did take the more advanced math class though.

I never even had to choose anything, except my 'specialization' (a 'packet' of courses, in my case Latin-maths, meaning I had 7 hours of maths and 4 hours of Latin). The education system in Belgium wants every pupil to learn approximately the same (in general secondary education, that is), so the differences are usually in details (the hours per course, or one or two courses specifically for your 'specialization' (in my case: Latin). To give you an idea: you could choose between 8 such packets at my school.

I live in America, and my high school only offers German or Spanish. I'm taking German. In fact, I'm in German right at this moment. I really wish I had more language choices. I won't mind taking Latin. It would be really cool to take Russian. I'm not in any honors classes because I'm with Duke87 on that.

I never posted a lot to begin with. Although there were times where I tried to make multiple posts in a day, mostly I try to make a post a day. This might be my only post on the site today.

I can remember if I took honors courses. I prolly did. I went to a college preparatory high school and I was in the A course, as opposed to the B course, which was more laid back.

My school had 5 languages. French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese.

Languages offere at my high school: Latin, Spanish, French, Italian. Yeah, real diverse. :P One of the other high schools in town started offering Mandarin, but not mine. I took Italian.

Lots of places still don't offer German as a legacy of WWII.

In my German class, we don't talk about WWII at all. However, my teacher does show cartoons and stuff making fun of Hitler and the Nazis.

^ Good luck, although I have no idea what that is!

I'm taking all honors classes because I figure it will look good on my record for colleges, I want to have a higher GPA, and also because in general, I've found that students in honors classes act much better than students in regular classes. Although that is not always the case... The others in my math class act like wild animals whenever we have a substitute, The other day, people were throwing things across the room, laughing like hyenas, and being prime examples of human devolution. :P

But it sure is a lot of work. My English and Biology classes in particular assign a lot of homework. At least I like my Bio teacher. She's really nice and very skilled at teaching.

Happy birthday! Have a nice day :) I didn't feel old when I celebrated my 20th birthday last year, that realization came when I became 19 years, the idea of 'Oh my, I'm not a kid anymore'

I started feeling "old" when I started being able to have mature conversations with people who didn't remember things I did because they weren't old enough.

For example, my cousin who is 7 1/2 years younger than me is just about to turn 18, and does not remember DOS.

Just got back from the certification test. Passed the first half with flying colors, then failed the second by 2 freaking points. Oh well, I have another chance to take the second half this coming tuesday, and I've never in my life failed a test twice, so I'm confident I'll pass it then. Still, it would have been nice to say I passed the whole thing. :P

Happy birthday, Chptrk! I first felt old when I found I had become awkward at things I used to excel in. That's when you think to yourself, "Oh yeah, I haven't done this for over 10 years. No wonder I suck at it." Luckily I have retained my youthful appearance over the years. If I shaved my beard I could easily still pass for a teenager.

I look several years older if I don't shave for a few days, compared to when I am clean-shaven.

Someone I met up with to do an inspection recently came out with a "you probably remember when..." for something I am not old enough to have remembered. The guy laughed when I told him I was 25. He said he'd assumed based on my appearance that I was in my mid-30's.

    Methinks it's the beard.
