I generally don't watch movies at all, but my parents love to. They go to the theater nearly every Saturday, and if I don't go with them, I'm stuck at home doing nothing, so I go with them sometimes.

I have thing where I refuse to watch a movie by myself. As a result of this there is a fair number of movies that I want to see but have never seen on account of never having found an occasion where someone wanted to watch it with me.

I also prefer if I am watching a movie for the first time that the person I'm watching it with has never seen it before either, though this rule I will sometimes break.

I won't watch a movie unless I like the actor in it.

The presence of a certain actor or actress has occasionally motivated me to see a particular movie, but usually I'm more familiar with characters and in any given movie I probably can't name most of the actors.

Psychologically, I usually tend to think of the person I see on the screen as actually being the character they're playing, not as a real person acting. So it can be a bit weird to me when I see the same actor in two different movies in completely different roles. Whichever movie I see second, I'll keep wanting to think of that character as being the character from the other movie.

About seven years.

@Duke: I don't really care about the actors in a movie. Occasionally, I'll see a movie because I like an actor/actress in the cast, but most of the time, I'll see it because I think the story looks interesting and the movie looks entertaining.

Same, the actors/actresses don't usually affect my thoughts on a particular movie.

I only review movies based on the general story/plot and how close to realism actors can get while in the film. There are a lot of films that I think are good but then there are flicks that just plain suck. Lately I have been seeing some decent acting but horrid storylines (3 Stooges, Twilight, Transformers)..

As expensive as it is to see a movie at the theatre, the sound and screen are awesome. Worth it once and a while.

(That is semi-related... we are talking about movies, in case you are wondering where that came from... :P)

^Unless you count the factor of being ripped off at the food stand. The local theaters here charge an arm and a leg for popcorn and other snacks. To get around this, I have had to sneak in food through the doors. It's easy to do so if you don't make it seem obvious

Food at my cinemas are reasonable, 50 cents for a small chocolate bar and $3 for a large drink!

Movie theaters, like sports venues, get away with charging exorbitant amounts for concessions because they have a monopoly and a captive audience. People like to eat at games and at movies. You can't bring your own in from outside. So, you're stuck paying them whatever they charge.

Of course, when it comes to movie theaters, things have gotten worse over the past decade or so. I remember in the late 90's, a movie ticket was $5.00, which adjusted for inflation is about $6.75 in today's money. The actual price today it's $11.00. You wonder why the box office sales record has been broken so many times in recent years? It's not because more people are going to see movies. It's because they're paying more to do so.

My family always sees matinees, so the movie tickets are only $5.

Ticket prices are a little higher here... usually about $12-$13, not including extra fees for IMAX or 3D. Concession is also extremely high. A medium popcorn and drink can easily run you $11... or maybe it was $15. Whatever it was, it is pretty expensive. That's why I don't go very often. Now maybe it is so expensive because there are only 2 national chains due to various exhibitor mergers. Now, there are various regional chains, but that's the thing - they're regional - and don't make that much of a difference nationally.

Most theatres here don't offer matinee discounts, either. Same price all day. But some do discount tickets all day on Tuesday.

I have many different genres of games. Puzzle, Action, RPG, Simulation, Tycoon, Strategy, Indie... Some of my favorite games are Skyrim (which, surprisingly, I haven't finished and haven't played in a while), SC4, Portal 2, Civ V, and Minecraft.
