Rene I got your PM you should have one now too. 2.gif

As said before, your first BAT is going to be truly a great BAT for a first. Makes us anxious to see what follows. 9.gif

Step by step, you're getting it. (I hope my info in the PM will help you!)

To answer your question about the ground floor structures, there actually isn't too much going on down there. On the ground floor you will mainly find the building entrances, the lobby, a laundromat for tenants, and small offices such as dentistry, law firms, and small deli's. To be honest theres not much life on the ground floors of these buildings. Hope this answers your question adequately enough, but if not just let me know.

For a first BAT, this is coming out very well. I am only anxious to see what the night renders will look like.

That's very good! The roof texture looks realistic so far. And very in line with the building general appearence. I all the time use horrible texture which i m oblige to hide with lots of roof stuffs. I have a question to you and all people who consult this topic : Where do u find your textures? Do u create them by yourself, or do u pick them from google map or other sites? 2.gif

@ TekindusT Thanks, glad you like it. Well, yes, the balconies on the sidewalls are still missing. Let's see if it'll be

good enough for your CJ lol

@ Sgt Pepper  Thank you, Brandon, sorry for not replying. PM will follow.

@ gio10469   Thanks for letting me know, so I don't need to worry too much about that 2.gif

@ mben92    Thanks, glad you like it. Oh, there's still a long way to go as for the night-preview... lol

@ Aaron Graham    lol yes, finally... 2.gif

@ Parisian   Thanks. As for your question: cgtextures.com, they have variety... ! You will have to alter them, though.

If you do not have PS; which I don't have either, there is GIMP for free offering the same tools as PS.

                            Links will follow.

So, the majority of the building has been textured, BUT: there seems to be a graphic bug on the sidewall on the left side of the picture- no matter from which angle I do the preview, always the left side of the building is affected.

    WHAT IS IT?

Does anybody have a glue about this?

    graphicglitch.jpg

I guess at this point I could really need your help to get rid of this graphic thing, whatever it is.

Thanks a lot in advance, comments and suggestions are more than welcome,

    take care everyone,

    lucky7

Yes I also had that, on GMAX but when you export to a SC4Model, it is actually fine, probably because it is only showing what you would see on a SC4 view ?. (I don't know why it occures)

And your model is very nice, maybe the blue texture is a bit flashy, i'd darken it a bit if I were you, but it is coming along great 2.gif

If you look closely you can see the bug also appears on the right wall of the front wing. Did you make one wing and copy it 4 times? I suspect it's a glitch in the geometry. But first check if you didn't have any poly's selected when you applied the uvw. If that doesn't work, have a close look at the geometry and see if all the verticies are in line with each other. If that doesn't help, select all elements and unsmooth them. Last thing you can try is just remodel the affected parts2.gif Hope that helps.

I hope you can solve that little bug you're having! The textures are off to a great start but I think the bricks may be a bit big.

@ TowerDude:  Thank you, problem solved! As for the windows: they glass isn't textured yet, blue is just

                                  for personal reference.

@ paulvmontfort:  lol Thanks a lot for your advice. Well, I've tried out everything you said- no effect...

But: the wall parts were slightly overlapping the setback window frames, so I remodelled

the aforementioned parts and the bug was gone... so, I guess it were the splines

                                     interfering with the meshes.

@ gio10469: Thanks, well, luckily the bug is gone. As for the textures: I've resized the brick by 1/3, I think

                             it looks better now.

@ Aaron Graham: lol yeah, still km away... 2.gif

So, the graphic problem has been finally solved after hours of trial and error and I think 9 previews.

Some wall parts slightly overlapping the setback window frames had caused the bug, here's another

    preview:

    ps1j.jpg

    Ok, what is still missing?

    - 2 satellite dishes on the top structure,

    - some parts of the braces that had been in use during the renovations,

    - some walls on the ground floor to fake shops and offices there,

    - the balconies on the small sidewalls and

    - the water tower structure for the second version, plus

    - V1.A. + 2.A. with windows next to the balconies.

    - Glass texturing,

    - nightlights,

    finished.

The modelling and texturing of the missing parts shouldn't take too long, nightlighting will be interesting.

Stay tuned for more progress and thanks everyone for your advices and tips,

    take care,

    lucky7

I'm glad you were able to work out the bug. The smaller bricks look a lot better! I can't wait to see the window textures, they will really bring this building to life. I can't wait to see more.

    Taraaaa... lol

Seems like there might be an update here, soon.

I've got a question: does anyone happen to know where to get the exact measurements from The Dairy in Central Park from? I've been searching for 2 hours now and I must go to bed... measuring in GE only gives me the width and length of it, but not the height.

Thanks in advance, I guess I have to resume work on Coop City tomorrow ;)

    Take care everyone,

    lucky7

Co-op city tower is looking nice, but i'd suggest you to tone down contrast in both the roof and the wall texture.

As for thew wall, you might also want to make your "bricks" a little smaller.

While the existing (real life) building is not exactly nice, you have the potential to make a nice tower out of there.Keep it up!
