Josh Riddle, If you drag a rail network over the area that the highway will be then you will get a nice smooth surface to work with. It will make you (already fantastic) highways even better!

My most scenic highway goes righ across my entire island.

Starting in my capital, drivers need to go up a ramp into my country's eastern mountain range and into a tunnel..

Afterwards it will cross a total of seven large cities in a straight line including mostly flat and forested terrain so drivers who like to switch on their cruise control will really enjoy this one..

It ends on my west coast in a dirty industrial part of my country. The stretch without any bends is a total of 2009 tiles (if I remember correctly a large city has 256 tiles), the highway itself  is a tad longer.

On the way it crosses a gorge which runs across the island with a nice bridge.
