Are those other structures supposed to be enormous parking structures?

Yeah, I guess they're a little big (Would be a nightmare to park there), I'll probably change it up sometime later.  They're from the 8 level modular parking garage set you can find on the stex.

wouldn't exactly call this too big... at leat not in the total number. hard to do a good search on it, but Denver Intl. has a total of over 40.000 spots (hard to believe but that's the number they give), LAX has about 8000, others don't give a number (ATL, JFK) but I expect them to be in the likes of LAX...

the design of the parking could be better tho...

Well, this is my old airport, which has been OBE for a little while now.

 

 

 

I split the airport terminal and runways between two medium-sized cities for 2 reasons. 1) space, this was a huge undertaking, and 2) money. Runways and taxiways cost a lot, so splitting the cost between cities was a way to keep costs down, and leave more enough room in both cities for tax-revenue to pay for the airport.

 

 

I was a little disappointed with myself that my concourses were too narrow, especially at the international gates with the wide-body jets. There just isn't enough room for travelers on the concourses. By the time I realized how small the concourses were, I was so far into the project I just didn't want to change it at the moment. Next time I'll do better.

 

 

Finally, the runways and queuing jets. The two main runways run east-west, with an auxiliary runway north-south. No, it's not a great picture, but you get the gist. It's early in the morning and a lot of airlines are sending flights out to the rest of the country. It may look crowded, but that doesn't last very long.

I've just about finished this guy. I still need to do the surrounding area, find a suitable control tower, and develop the two adjacent cities so that I can work on those runways. I also want to add a network of HSR in my region but I haven't figured that out yet. But besides all that, I am very happy with what I have so far. At the bottom of the screen, part that was chopped off, there will be a freight loading area for some planes, but I don't quite know what I'm doing there yet. All three of the runways extend another 130+ tiles into the adjacent cities, so they should be able to fit the 747's and 777's. I read a lot of the critiques on this thread so I hope I didn't mess up all too badly. And I used SFO's arrival/departure list to plop planes that would likely land at this airport.

Thanks! I don't think I would release it on STEX because all of its bugs and lack of night lights. (I might release it on my BAT thread though.

Izuna Kamui International Airport - 2nd to the last update.

being my first custom airport, its the airport that i revised and updated the most (first made October 2011).

the newest improvement i made is the second runway (i still prefer the 3-tile wide runway over the 2-tile) and an expanded terminal (I can't do what you guys did with your airports due to my land restriction.) I hope for a new 3-tile runway to match the taxiways and i'm finished with the whole project.
