Your airport makes much more sense when one considers the fact that it is in a city that more closely resembles Coruscant than it does any real-life city.

Here the urban area has already reached 2 sides of the Airport, and the population is now 28.9 millions:

In some other place of Larna I built a airport before CVA, this si the Phillip II Airport, it was made in an artificial Island.

Actually this city wasn't part of the GTR, I made if afterward. However, I have made some Youtube videos in this city (link to my Youtube videos in my signature) and displayed numorous images from it in various "Show Us Your..." Threads on Simtropolis and SC4 Devotion.

However, the last custom airport I did make is in the GTR, and that was in 2006/2007. You can find the now consolidated version here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=3340.msg102624#msg102624. (I forget where it is in there )

I love making airports so I decided to make a new one today, so I fired up my sandbox region and had a go. It's been a while since I last played SC4 so getting it done took a while since the I was unfamiliar with the airport menu.

I based my runway markings on the Australian standard which is why it seems a bit lacking. The T-style runway layout was based on Manila's airport. The terminal, too, was inspired by Manila's Terminal 3. Currently, the terminal cannot hold an a380 because of the gate configuration. However, the last gate to the left can be converted to accommodate the large jet, since there is already an entire wing ready. All-in-all, the terminal can handle 10 jumbos and 6 narrowbodies at any given time.

@Texan: I spliced together night shots from a level 2 zoom. Ion_Cannons right, it was a whole lot of pictures.

You guys' taxiways and terminals make me so jealous. I just tried building an airport today, and it looks awful. I don't know if I didn't download a pack with some good terminals, but mine just looks like it was randomly thrown together by a drunken engineer. I would post screenshots, but it's just embarrassing.

Let me introduce you the David F. Woodward Regional Airport, serving the city of Benson (my very first North American-styled city)

This airport is also my first fully completed cross-runways airport...

The Concourse A, facing the short 9/27 runway. This is what remains from Benson's old airport, which has seen several expansions since then. Note the presence of a lot of Delta Airlines aircrafts, Benson is a focus city for this airline.

The Concourse B, shorter than Concourse A and facing the new and long 18/36 runway. This concourse also hosts an small cargo area, below.

This airport is a regional hub for FedEx Express, capable of hosting the company's A310's and B787's.

Both concourses join in a corner area, full of duty-free shops and commercial areas.

The new cargo area also hosts FedEx Express services.

Finally, the small aircraft and civil aviation area, where regional and private jets land.

I was getting sick of the ACB/VLT terminals, because you know, everyone uses them. I don't plan on releasing these Terminals as they are unfinished, and still in their early stages of development. But here's something like a teaser I guess
