 1. Burj Dubai

 2. Tapei Towers

 3. China Tower

 4. World Trade Center

These buildings were vafored to be the best builings ever. It is still optional requests from friends.

Tell me your faviorate tall building.

My faviorate is the Burj Dubai. It spans straight up about 2,000 feet!6.gif

You can see it from 60 miles away! I think it is scary to go on the outside elevator during construction

and finished. The finished building is also used as apartments, armani hotels, and business offices! Has lots of resort

water pools and artificial lakes!

   Tell me your best building!

My statistics are out of date unfortunately...

BUT I would just like to add that I like the architecture of all the buildings you have listed except the Burj Dubai! I'm just not a big fan of how it looks, but it is an engineering feat.

I'm a little biased towards the CN Tower since I'm from Canada, but it doesn't really count as a building. I really like the look of the Petronas Towers I think it deserves a spot on the list.

About this, the topic's title could be a little confusing; because when speaking about the tallest constructions, we usually separate structures (communication towers, radio masts, chimneys...) and buildings. In this case, the topic title speaks about "buildings" so the CN Tower could not get into the list although it is the third tallest freestanding structure in the world.

Aren't they also planning another building that's like 2 kilometers tall in Dubai? I doubt it'll be built but still lol

^Those are wuzzes. Check out the Tokyo visions (M.O.T.H.E.R, or the X-seeds (the 4000 model's name derives from its height in metres)). Then Dubai City tower is said to be 2400 metres.

And my favourite? Not sure yet. Taipei 101, perhaps.

I agree with Cobraroll about Taipei 101... its a stand alone building with a very distinct design only to be out sized by the massive surrounding mountains! (by stand alone i mean its the only tower in the skyline) I find it hard to really say which building would be my favorite. To see a structure in person is the only way to make a judgement. I am from Toronto, Canada and have seen the CN Tower pretty well everyday of my life so its really nothing special to me. Im proud that it held the record for tallest structure from day 1 of its completion until about a month ago when it was passed by the Burj Dubai, but i find the CN Tower rather dull and boring! My choice will have to be the Empire State Building in NYC. I went to NYC for the first time last year and was blown away! What did it for me was the view from the top of the ESB. You can see office towers for miles and its just an amazing experience! Another reason for my top choice is the year of its completion... I believe it was 1930?? (correct me if im wrong) and they only lost something like 5 lives (again correct me if im wrong) without using any safety restraints. Simply amazing!! I have worked on some rather tall office towers in Toronto and couldn't imagine whart it would have been like to not have safety restraints. BIG UP TO NYC!!!

I'm personally a fan of the Eureka tower in Melbourne and Q1 in the Gold Coast, the two tallest residential towers in the southern hemisphere. Q1 is currently the tallest in the world.

Interestingly, as far as I know they've never been BATted.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Thankyou!!! I'm glad someone said the Eureka Tower as opposed to the normal 'faves'.

Also, check out Kolner Dom (Colonge Cathedral) and St. Nikolaikirche (St. Nicolas Church).

Of all the places to build a space-elevator, why Indonesia?? Also, not technically a building - pretty, though.
