Oh man! Your in quite a predicament!

I dont think there are any NAM or RHW puzzle peices that fit your needs but I think might have a solution. Try using RHW lane 4 instead of 5 and split the 4 lane one way road into two 2 lane RHW or one way roads and have them intersect in that way.

Its not pretty but its functional. If you want I can send you some pics about what I mean.

Hope this helps out! Best of luck to you and keep it up!

    The Los Angeles Times

    Replies

Mr. Beer:  Glad to see you come back and thank you. I do plan on starting at the heart first. I like stating in and going out.

Jamonbread: That's out of my league I suppose for now that is where it will have to stay, like that. But... who knows soon it may not have to.

lucky7: Thank you you'll like what I got planned shortly.

hmm: Thanks for coming back for more! Yeah it is a problem no good intersection seems to be fitting and I may just have to leave it like that until something in future RHW or NAM or something gets completed for intersections like that.

crazychickensc12: Thank you! And you have no idea, though it's unrealstic to the remake I'm starting with all flat ground and adjusting as needed because of some of these complex road networks, with slops they just would not work how I need them.

PhatHead: Greater Los Angeles Area, ha, ha for now just the Downtown area is trouble enough. Also I've already downloaded the Staples Center BAT so the easy button is out but I will say it's round like one, and looks like one.

bluemoose: NWM huh? Maybe when it gets close to done they will let me beta test it in my city because there are going to be plenty of chances to use it. Thank you glad you like it.

kodebo: Alright that's what I want to hear! It's the first landmark besides Union Station you notice coming in from the 101 into the downtown area. Plus "what city is complete without a city hall?" Glad you like it thank you.

tostartpressanykey: Yes it's going to look better as buildings fill up and everything, thank you.

ComputerGuy890100: WOWR? Or NWM? Hm... hope it sees the light of day and sees it soon as I needs it (lol).

Thank you and I think I saw a picture of the region of Phoneix but never got to see any up close shots of it. I can't wait to see what mine will look like.

Schulmanator: Thank you! My goal is to get the full (main) downtown finished first before I move out.

    Landmark Bridge Coming to Simcity?

    Los_Angeles_River-bridge-dawn.jpg

Anyone seen this bridge? Well if you know your way around a little in Los Angeles you'll know it but for others, you may have seen this bridge featured in a few movies (the last scene in the Mask). This is the Fourth Street bridge that crosses the Los Angeles ([Dirty] Dry River) and then crosses over some industrial zones as well as the 101. Build in 1920 and retro fitted for earthquakes in 1995. This is my next project I'm working on for my Los Agneles

To everyone, updates are a little on the slow side I know but that's what happens when you keep having to redo your work until it is right (I'm a perfectionist). But I will have some nice pictures for everyone to see come Sunday (maybe sooner) I'm just finishing up the area I'm working on.

Well that's it for this little, I don't know what I would call it but it's finished 3.gif

You BAT the bridge yourself? This is really great! I guess I should start BATting, too,... in a couple of years, though lol

This looks defenitely promising and yes... the river IS dirty. Man, unbelievable... .

Looking forward to more and good luck with BATting, building and developing,

    lucky7

P.S.: I am glad your CJ has turned out so fine and well.

Oh my, if this picture would become reality you'd have finally made it into the heaven of realistic CJ'ers! If you look closely, you can see one of your rural hws running through the pic, surrounded by warehouse complexes... to the North is Wilshire Blvd (if I don't mess it up without GE... lol) and then the hills... may I ask if only downtown and the area surrounding it is off-grid? As far as I can remember the rest is the roads is not that difficult to build. I must take a look at my cities directory, because I once had started to do LA. I'll pm you...

All the best, this pic should be another inspiration for you and keep going,

This is a very interesting project. How are you planning on dealing with the terrain around the Bunker Hill section of Downtown? That adds yet another difficult element to a recreation of Downtown LA. I am embarking on a similar project myself so I understand the great difficulty in getting anywhere near close to a realistic recreation.

What has it been like a year? Then I vanished like a ninja huh? Hehe yeah I'm bad at that. Well I'll give everyone the short story... so... last time I was trying to BAT one of the bridges in LA and heh... that was proving hard enough until my lap top couldn't handle it and crashed. Bad enough when Simcity would crash but this was bad... anyway... I been without a computer for um months... maybe a year. Until I saved enough and got an Alienware muhahaha!! Now i'm back and this computer kicks booty. Though I have been working on my LA again for a few weeks. So yes Ceritos, I am back!

    side-nav-monument.jpg

I suppose I will start my tour away from the main attraction, and go far off the highway 1... way past Malabu even... to Oxnard! Never herd of it? Me either untill I drove up there to see it a few weeks ago (lol). This is a teaser to start of the re launch of my CJ! Real life picture to compare.

    Oxnard5Way.jpg

    5Way.jpg

Something to note... I was like tearing my hair out trying to make the city layout and stuff look as close as possible to the real LA it wasn't funny... I wasn't having fun with the game really. So now I decided that most of it is going to be "based off" LA and it's surrounding area. So that when I use real life pictures to compare, someone would still feel like I captured the feel of LA very well. Some parts will be as close as possible to the real thing... eh... maybe call it half and half?

Well tell me what you think! Guess who back? back again... I am back, I told my friend! Also to those who kept their remakes going Lucky7, Mr. Beer back when I even started this, soooo much props and respect to ya.

Schulmnaator: Hey thanks for stoping by to visit me on my return! glad you like the first picture, hope you like the rest!

Nathanthemayor: Thank you, hopefull these next pictures keep you thinking it's good.

Alright so yeah playing on hard has made things very well... hard for doing a remake. I have to pace myself and wait for growth to generate more money, so Oxnard has way more farms than it should, but I will fill them in with more house/shops like the real thing with time.

    NavalBaseOverview.jpg

Alright so here is the Naval base of the area, Mugu. Well... um in progress. Since I been playing on hard, funds have been hard to come by even with loans.

    NavalBaseExit.jpg

Alright here is the main off ramp leading to the naval base, this one I did try to make exact, here is the compare picture.

    OffRampNavalBase.jpg

Alright um... this one is an interesting interestion that could be made maybe, if I used the one way roads and stuff but eh... I dun wana, maybe, maybe if I get enough drive I will but I don't like how the one way roads look and to make a bunch of zig zags... eh. So I compromised and made this simple thing.

    1Interchange.jpg

Think it's nice? Compare it to the real thing >.>

    WTF.jpg

An an overview of my progress so far in Oxnard/Ventura

    Oxnard1.jpg

Well hehe... tada! In case you're wondering, I have parts of Long Beach done, Malabu Done, and Orange County. I'll do a nother update on Oxnard after a few years of growth and then start moving on to others. I'm going to try to save LA as the last, not just because I'm saving the best for last but I need population build up and playing on hard is slowing things down (I dun wana cheat) so it will be last until I get my region to at least 500,000. Tell what you think!

Mastof: Thank, though it wasn't my best, so I redid it. Tell me what you think of it now. =)

    Benedict: Thankies! =D

    Kakado_To_Save: If that's great, then you'll love this =p

Alright fellows, I was greatly displeased with my work after looking at it on display. Though I said I'm not remaking the city street for street, only key parts will be remade as close as possible. I still feel I did'nt do good enough to really capture the feel, so I redit a lot of it. Also I tried a few new ways of building and feel the results now capture the Ventura area a lot better!

Let's start off with that 5 way interchange again, this is how it looks now.

    5WayRework.jpg

    5Way.jpg

I feel it's better, as I left the open space, and put more comerical around the area like it should be.

    NavalBase.jpg

Here is the naval base again, the last base just looked... bad. Sure it was work in progress as this one is, but this one is way better too me.

    OxnardOverview.jpg

Here is the southwest part of Oxnard, an overview of it.

    DiagonalHomes.jpg

I just wanted to show the first time I did work with diagonal streets and homes. It was frusterating to do and get used to, what do you think for a frist try?

    LosAngelesCountyOxnardVenturaPhase2.jpg

Here is the new region picture of the Ventura area. See the build up going upwards? I plan on getting most or all of Ventura (in this area) done by the end of the week if things go well.

    Phase1Labels.jpg

Also, some labels to give everyone a little sense of my mapping. Key points and routes have been marked.

I think this really captures the feel of the area a lot better, what do you all think? Are there any close-up pictures of this area anyone would like to see? If not, I'll just show some more random pictures of the area as it progresses.
