How would you rate Asahi? It seems to be a hugely pushed beer over here.

Although, it seems notable that most people don't actually drink the beer that is mainly associated with their country. Foster's tastes like bin water and dirt, and I've heard few Americans touch Bud.

Budweiser has its place: it's cheap to buy, and you can drink large quantities of it in one night/party/sporting event when surrounded by others having fun.  I spent a lot of money in college on Bud when I wasn't drinking Molson.

All Japanese beers are pretty good, and they're all a bit pricey, even here in their home market. Not a lot of wheat or barley or whatever is grown here.  Asahi (Super Dry) is good, Kirin (Draft Beer) is good, and Suntory makes some kind of beer (The Premium Malts, I think it's called) that's good, too.  I just prefer Sapporo.  Cheaper to buy but pretty gross if you're not drinking to get drunk is a beer-like swill called "happoshu," where beer is... something... and sold in cans alongside beer and just doesn't taste very good.  I no longer drink to get drunk, so when I imbibe some alcoholic beverage, I go with a can or three of what I know I like.

What's on tap here at the Moose Factory?

What kind of soufflé would you like?  Savoury or sweet?  Soufflés are often served as an appetizer (savoury) or as dessert.  If the former, what would you like for your entrée?

Too long to list.  Ask and you will receive.  Want something exotic, try a mug of Welsh Perry.

Hi SimRico, long time, no see.

Ooo Ill go for some nachos! Or maybe a Quesadilla! Might go for a cheese, ham and beans quesadilla.

OK, I hope you like corn tortillas.  Quesadilla with ham and frijoles refritos.  The cheese goes without saying.

Yes, a pint of Welsh Perry and a steak medium rare, and perhaps some sort of vegetable side dish.  That sounds nice.

The veggies of the day are New Brunswick fiddle heads, lightly steamed and served with clarified butter.  We've garnished your steak with shredded crab.  Enjoy.

Sure, guys.  Come back tomorrow when that menu kicks in.  Service starts at 1200 local time world-wide.

And Capt. Johnny: try not to push the quote button without editing the quoted passage.  I think anyone who's interested has seen the menu.  To make the complete order a little copy and paste would have done the trick.  IDK whether the system copies the full text or only makes a link, but if the former, this is a great waste of server space.

We always use chocolate nibs for chocolate dishes.  We generally don't use already prepared chocolate because of the sugar usually contained in it.  Enjoy your pudding.  In this case we made extra thick crème Anglais and flavoured it with chocolate, then added toasted almonds.

A drink, and a strong one at that.

Planter's punch?  1 of lime juice, 2 of simple syrup, 3 rum, 4 soda water, ice cubes.  Sip this, it is a triple.

I'll have brown ale as usual if you've got that lol

On tap.  The local brewer makes a good one.  Or you could try something off the beaten track, like Alexander Keith's Dark Ale.

We try to be even handed since the two celebrations fall so close together, sometimes on the same weekend.  And here comes Bastille Day, July 12th.  Vive La France.

I don't know why it is that so many revolutionary events and Independence days fall in July. Maybe just coincidence?

Looking at the menu, I couldn't help but notice the Fort McHenry cake. I was at Fort McHenry for a school field trip last year and I didn't think the fort was completely made of dirt mounds. Very well fortified. Baltimore's hotter than hell, though. Nice city, just a really hot one.

Only fort I've been to in the USA was Fort Nashborough in Tennessee back in 2000...

I wonder what the founding fathers would make of the present state of their creation?

Jefferson would be disgusted and would recommend 'a little revolution'.  Washington would shake his head in sadness, and Franklin would get out an edition of his newspaper.

    Happy Birthday USA.

    Happy Independence Day, America!

Mr Saturn and I will have steamed Maine lobster with Corn on the Cob, and for dessert, the Fort McHenry cake, please. Why Fort McHenry, read my previous posts.
