Hi Craig. I don't usually stop by here, but just noticed your reply and question...

Currently site attachment quota entitles you up to 500 MB of files for uploading to the ST server. This is separate from the STEX, and so it can be anywhere else on the site including here in the forums. Files can be dragged over from your computer into the panel at the bottom of the editor:

To as follows:

ST_Attach Attachments.png

(Or use the "Choose Files..." option to select from the dialog.)

Multiple can be uploaded consecutively by left click selecting the first file as desired, holding the Shift key, and finally clicking the last file. Then it'll be using the little  ST_Add Attachment Icon.png  icon for adding each into the post, description, or wherever. Once uploaded, existingly uploaded attachments can be managed from this page.

Deleting any from here will free up space, but at the expense of removing them from the content where posted.

For external storage, these days lots of people recommend Imgur.com as their host of choice. But rest assured though, there's still plenty storage here at ST if you need it. *;)

Hope this helps!

....I'm here with some sad news actually...  David Edgren (Dedgren) who was a big part of our SimCity community has recently had a very serious accident while cycling across the US....

oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that news I had started to follow his biking blogs last year but then real life caught up with me and I lost track of what he was doing, my best wishes for him and his family and prayers that he recovers from this.

....I do need to go and poke about in my Screw Pile site, which I have sadly neglected, it still has broken links I know.....

Most of what you had over in your screw pile site, I also had over in my website (city-builders.info), when I did a planned shutdown of the site last year everything (or at least fingers crossed everything) made its way over to Simtropolis and the official maxis files are here

https://community.simtropolis.com/SC4-maxis-files/

I also had a large collection of SC3 files they ended up in the STEX with the help of  @CorinaMarie, I also inherited all of Paeng's SimCity files when he left the SC4 community, some of those files are now in the STEX with the help of @Tyberius06, the rest are over here

Paeng also passed over to me everything he had managed to save from the SimPeg site, the DAMN tutorial and also the cheat sheets that he did for coal and logging are on the omnibus as people asked me if I could upload them, at some point in the future as part of the tidy-up of the omnibus I'll add the rest of the tutorials from SimPeg.

Oh, the nostalgia in this thread is working its magic on me as well.  Since the series I've been writing is set in the city I built in SC4 I've been looking at my old pictures and I tell you what, I do want to play.  Part of my problem is that I've been watching people play Cities: Skylines and I really want to use curvy roads and have my grids run at odd angles and have ramps and crazy bridges, although honestly I like the buildings in SC4 better...

For some reason I feel like grilled hamburgers and hot dogs is a good idea tonight.  I'll set some of them out with cheese, onions, mustard, ketchup, and barbecue sauce, and of course we can saute up some onions or mushrooms if you'd like.  French fries and potato salad are also available if you feel so inclined.

@Craig-Abcvs It'll great to see you hanging out in the forums again, I remember you from SimPeg.  But that was before I went inactive for a while.

@NMUSpidey You don't have to call me twice for dinner, I carry my fork and knife with me at all times.

Thanks for image advice guys.   Still deciding what to do at Photobucket, everytime I log on I get a message from them that I have gone over my 250 image limit...   what?!...  I only have 5500 images on there, what are they complaining about; "Its only a little over officer..."

@catty-cb The Screw Pile site is actually less important these days since all those hard to find maxis files were now hosted at ST.   At the time I set it up 2012 I think, it was still really hard to find the files because EA had shut the SimCity 4 site down.   It served a helpful bridge, and I guess I just leave it there as my little corner of the interwebs.

Well...  I have actually been playing the game again and I am slowly ironing out the kinks.  Getting the plugin folder sorted has been an ongoing task because it was an older version and some things needed adding.   I sorted the CTD terrain mod problem, I had been using one if the HD ones and I needed to make sure it loaded absolutely last by putting more zzz's in front of the folders.

I do recommend the Good Old Games version, it seems to come with all the patches like night light fixes sorted.

Double shot flat white thanks.  (That's a latte kind of thing).

GOG rocks my socks, I love that site, although their version of SC2K isn't the one I was hoping for.  Oh well!

I'll serve up your latte, and have a decafe vanilla version for myself!  Iced because it's summer time up here.

Sigh...   the Moose Factory was the first ever ST thread I posted in.   Met the Moose on the old EA SimCity forum and found my way here.

I gotta say that this place is the place you can come back to after a long absence, walk in and feel like the place hasn't changed a bit.   Except for the laughing Moose head watching over everything on the main site banner.   He was a good guy.

yeah, I almost feel like I never left, although they do serve a bit more curry now than I remember. :)

I'll take a burger with the sautéed mushrooms and onions, and a bit of ketchup, please.

And probably alot of them were on SimPeg  smiley-cry.gif.dae3917e69ac0101da905b08f871e2e1.gif

I was quite surprised at how much space I had left in my Simtrop image area given the number of pictures I've been adding to the Omnibus just lately .... it says I've only used 21% of it .... think some of its due to the fact that the pictures have been quite old so people were still using dial-up modems back then

I promised I'd keep the place up and running, so here I am.  I'm glad the old ambiance continues.

Indeed, although I'm seriously considering asking to have my kitchen privileges reinstated.

And you have an even greater chance of being killed by gun violence.

(Maybe I should have posted that in the political thread) :ooh:

It's  the smell.   Funny how you can smell a smell, and it takes you right back to wherever it was that you first associated with that smell.

I heard somewhere that smell is the strongest trigger for memories. I remember mowing lawns to buy comics back in high school every time I smell grass clippings.

Tonight I'm smelling curry.  Why?  Because it's CURRY SUNDAY!  For tonight's curry, we'll go with mutton curry with onion and potato added, served with basmati rice and/or naan.  And as promised, let's add some Indian dessert!  A festive phirni (a kind of milk/rice pudding) to go with our curry will put a nice cap on the meal.

We made a big pan of enchiladas tonight filled with black beans and pork and, I don't know, some kind of texmex-y goop.  It was delicious, so everyone feel free to grab a plate and dig in.  I'll just be sitting here with my Corona keeping my seat warm.

Hope I'm not to late for the enchilada's!  Nachos sound yummy as well.  I'm in the mood for chili, but it's just to hot outside right now.

I like nachos, but I've been eating a lot of them lately.  The enchiladas sound good.

2.3C??  I'm so jealous.  I miss winter, the heavy snow, the howling wind, the endless nights.  Great stuff!  I am doing my best to enjoy summer though, it is nice to drive around with the windows and sunroof open.

No snow today, which is a bit disappointing but its been pretty cold and the temperature is currently -2.0 °C so wouldn't mind some a hot chocolate drink to warm up

Bit warm on the east coast, not sure what the real temp is, but the heat index is around 100ºF.

For some reason, whenever I watch any 90s Star Trek I always expect to hear the opening theme from Voyager.  TOS is the only series I don't have this expectation, but it's really strong when we get to the end of TNG episodes, I just expect to hear the opening bars of Voyager instead.  Weird.

ANYway, it's CURRY SUNDAY!  We'll be going with a Thai curry this time, a red one with bell peppers, bamboo shoots, tiny cuts of chicken, and mushrooms (I love mushrooms).  We'll cap it off with some mango sticky rice for those of you with a sweet tooth, and if anyone wants a Sapporo Black Label with me there are plenty to go around.
