Yay!  Casino Royale is great, it's one of our favorites.  Well, I mean they all are.  Our favorites, I mean.

Anyways, I'm going to prepare some sherbet for a snack tonight in honor of the heavy, wet, slushy snow that we seem to keep getting this winter.  We're forecast to get another helping of this much on Sunday night inot Monday, so this seems as appropriate a thing to consume as any.

Good movie but I don't think I liked Daniel Craig  as the new James Bond ... read the books years ago and Pierce Brosnan is a lot closer to the book description

The sherbet sounds good as it was 25°C = 77°F with 84% humidity today, its cooled down a bit now its nighttime but the humidity hasn't dropped.

Interesting.  I thought Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore were the least like the James Bond in the books.  They always seemed too charming and jovial by comparison, so to me Craig was a step back towards that direction, kind of like Timothy Dalton.  I only read two of the books though, so I could be remembering them wrong.  I'll be sure to put the others on my list when I finish re-reading the Lois Duncan books I'm going through right now.

Somebody did a picture of what James Bond should look like based on the descriptions in the books

That drawing looks a LOT like Ian Fleming.  I was thinking less the looks and more the attitude/personality, in the books he seemed a lot colder, a lot less lucky, but like I said I think I need to read them again.

I feel like Chinese food today.  Maboudoufu, bell peppers and beef, ginger pork, egg rolls, wantons, potstickers, rice, all yummy stuff.  Please help yourself!

I can oblige.  Be prepared for some modest rice balls topped with beautiful, colorful strips of raw fish: mackerel, bonita, tuna, salmon, crab, shrimp, and more.  I'll set out a small dish with soy sauce and you can add some wasabi if you'd like.  Pickles are available on request.  We'll put the sushi on individual dishes and stream them by you on this here handy conveyor belt.

Living on base has deteriorated my culinary experiences - tonight, my wife and I went out to.... Burger King. I could NOT help help but get a chocolate oreo shake. Best meal I've had in a while. Can't wait to move off base.

Can I get a Gordon Ramsey hamburger? Specifically the one he went into detail about on the new interview he had on Hot Ones? The Whopper was good, but I'd like a taste of.. exquisiteness.

Yes, of course.  We'll do all sorts of hamburgers tonight, and we'll serve one up especially for you with the proper amount of exquisiteness.  Just let us know how well you want it done!

Hamburger sounds great if it wasn't so hot I'd order one, but we are in the middle of a heat wave here

.......... goes and checks the temperature gauge ... its going down thank goodness now its night but it was 34.2 °C (93.56°F) and the humidity is currently 77% very unpleasant

So I could I get a large glass of lemonade with lots of ice thanks  :thumb:

Well, why don't I offer you up some cold soba noodles and some mentsuyu (also cold) to dip them in?  It will go great with a tall glass of ice-cold lemonade.

35C is hot and uncomfortable and I moved as far north as I could to avoid it.  This week we're getting temperatures down around -10 to -20, with wind chills down around -40.  Whether you put the F or the C behind those numbers doesn't matter, it's very, very cold.  School is canceled.  I still go to work, though.  I hope my car starts!

The cold soba noodles and some mentsuyu sound great and I think I'll have another lemonade thanks ... the temperature here has dropped a bit, its been swinging between 29C and 31C which is a relief as the experts were talking about the possibility of the temperature hitting 37C   :8)

Things are starting to heat up here.  We hit 0C today.  Definitely an early February heat wave for us.  Stay hydrated, don't spend too much time in the sun.  Honestly we should all be taking it easier these days.  Whew.  If I keep typing I'm gonna break out in a sweat.

We have delved back into the world of Star Trek, going all the way back to The Original Series.  Up today, Balance Of Terror, our first (TOS) meet-up with the Romulans.  How about I break out my special case of Romulan ale for this special occasion?  Just don't ask too many questions about how I got my hands on it, be thankful that we can share it!

For the second week in a row, we're getting a foot of snow.  I'm glad I took my wife's truck today, my little Mazda3 would never have made it up the hill to get home.

Since we made it safe and sound and it's snowing and blustery and cold, let's set out some hot potato foods: scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes with your choice of gravy, baked potatoes (loaded or plain or anything in between), tater tots, hash browns, french fries, and if you feel so inclined, potato chips.  Or crisps.  Whatever suits you!

It was another chilly one this morning, -2F according to my car.  SO it was good luck that we prepared a pot roast in the slow cooker with potatoes and onions.  It was delicious, and if you need to warm yourself up, feel free to help yourselves!  Also, for our Southern Hemisphere friends, go ahead and join our kids in eating some vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.

The vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce sounds lovely, but I'm going to have to go with the pot roast as the temperature is dropping here, according to the experts because Tropical Cyclone Oma is sitting at the top of the country (North) its pulling in winter type weather from the south and as you can imagine with our nearest neighbor being the Antarctica its getting to be pot roast weather and dig out the heaters

So a couple weeks ago we got a foot of snow, then we got a few more inches a few days later, then over a foot and a half last week, then nearly 6" last Tuesday, and we're forecast to get another foot tomorrow.  Thanks to February we're well over our snowfall average for the year now, and one of those days we set a 24 hour record.

Anyway, I feel like burgers tonight.  I'll have mine medium, with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, and we'll throw a little pasta salad and waffle fries on the side.  Let me know what you'll have, and we'll cook it up for you!

Had to look up what waffle fries were, but sounds nice and a slice of beetroot in the burger would be great

Order's up!  Do you want ketchup or ranch dressing or something else for your fries?

Huh.  I thought I had posted the above on Sunday.  Weird that it's still here all these days later.  Anyways, the 3rd season of TOS is more uneven than the firs two, but it has its moments.  I'm looking ahead though.  We're mere days away from one of my favorite movies, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan.  I'm excited.

So, how does some chicken pot pie sound?  The crust is crumbly and homemade. it's delicious.

Yes, 8C is a very comfortable temperature for me.  I get to wear my waffle shirt and maybe a hooded sweatshirt and turn the heat on in my car, unless it's been sitting in the sun, then it might be warm in it and I'll open the sunroof for some fresh air.  15C is probably perfect, though.

It is not 15C here today, though.  Winter will probably not break into spring for another 2 months, and there is a very real possibility of accumulating snow through the end of April.  We're at about -15C with wind chills even lower.  It's okay though, our cars still start every morning.

Since we're experiencing (admittedly quite different levels of) cold, how about we cook up some chicken noodle soup?  Let's ward off the colds before they start!

We've got Star Trek V: The Final Frontier on tonight, and it is awful, but it's awfulness is a good, entertaining awfulness, an awfulness that inspires one to watch it, if only to MST3K it the whole time.  Row row row your boat indeed.

I was going to offer up some of our ramen tonight, but it doesn't seem to be sitting right in my belly, so I'll share my Cadbury Cream Eggs instead.  Those things will fix my problem!

Cadbury isn't very popular in New Zealand these days since they closed the chocolate factory so will have to pass on the cream eggs  :(
