OK - so I ran home to papa, and made pizza for lunch.   Thin crispy base (yeah it was a ready made), pizza sauce, bacon bits, choritzo, cheese.

Had pizza last night, tonight its bacon cheeseburger and fries.

Bacon makes just about everything better.  I love bacon cheeseburgers, bacon on pizza, bacon for breakfast, but I'll be honest, I don't share The Internet's irrational love affair with it.  It is pretty darn good though.

 

But no bacon tonight, for tonight is CURRY SUNDAY!  And for tonight's Curry Sunday we're going with ...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMANGO!  MANGO CURRY, featuring broccoli, cashews, chicken, and red bell peppers.  We'll serve it over rice, and try to imagine ourselves on one of Thailand's beautiful white sandy beaches.  You can provide your own commas for that sentence it if bothers you.  ENJOY!

I made beef curry on Saturday.   I usually make it with coconut rice (just chuck a can of coconut milk in the rice cooker with the water and rice) and I also make roti canai - basically simple flour, water, oil, salt, non yeast flat bread, but rolled out, buttered, rolled up, then twisted into a spiral, and then rolled out flat again.   Cooked in an old cast iron pan as it holds the heat evenly once at right temperature.

It's time for NACHO MONDAY!  Except on a WEDNESDAY!  I'll set out a plate of simple nachos, jack cheese on tortilla chips, and we can eat them alongside Craig's steaks (so long as he's sharing, that is!)!

Boats!  That looks like a nice, big one.  My friends races sailboats, but the one we went sailing in a couple of years ago.  It was both fun and relaxing.  I'm also reminded of a joke:  What is a boat?  A hole in the water you pour money into.  BADUM-TSS.

 

Anyways, let's stay nautical for our curry tonight.  Why curry tonight?  Because it's CURRY SUNDAY, THAT'S WHY!  We are preparing a coconut shrimp curry, lightly spiced with brown curry served over rice, of course.  We'll add some onions for taste and red bell pepper for both taste and color.  I think I just made myself hungry.

It is turning into one of those weeks - it is only Wednesday, but I need a lie down, an alcoholic drink and my blankey.

In more cheerful news I am planning on going out sailing this coming Sunday, so hopefully there will be a snap or two to share.

We've started watching Boston Legal.  I'll admit I was only giving it a try because of the Immortal, Amazing WIlliam Shatner (and he is the best part, well, him and James Spader) but the show is highly amusing.  We like it!

 

So tonight, why don't I put out a new plate of nachos?  We'll load them up with taco meat, sharp cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, green onions, black olives, and, oh... purple onions because you just can't have enough purple onions. Nachos!
