well, slash the following things:
control room
observatory
solar panels
runway
launchpad
recycling(or leave it and have it inbuilt to reduce garbage)
building
nuclear power source
 
or keep all of it and have it as the command centre.....
im not to bothered because, ir crap at B.A.T

    Here's a building I'm making. I need ideas on how to make it better and what it could be used for. The building is LoneStar Surveilance. Any ideas at all please tell me.

    Looks good! The night lighting is cool!
    Can you add some details? Like entrances, little details on the construction etc. And the glass: Can you make it more tranparent at day time so you could see the plants? Did you texture the building yet?

    Pardon my ignorance, this is my first post on SimMars, but the mod looks incredibly exciting.  I have a few sci-fiesque models which I've built in the year since I started using gmax - can anyone contribute or do you have to be attached to the project?

    warpedone, we still need a lot of BATs for the mod and everybody is welcome to contribute something, you don't have to be in the team for that. For your BATs contact outdoorsman03, the building team leader and post some screens here in the forum.

    That's from Final Fantasy X. That would look great, but it would take a lot of hard work. 1.gif This mod looks really exciting. I can't wait to see what else you guys are coming up with.

    here  is my dome, also i think pressure fields could be a way of having outdoor praks the are almost invisible but keep air in

    People are already making domed parks as you can tell from recent replies in this thread.  And you attached the picture to your post, if you look at the bottom of your post it will say attached file: simmars14.jpg with a picture of a paperclip.

    Well, the SimMars Project will be a mod right? So, the domed parks is cool. But you know how when you start a city there's a lot of $ Wealth so maybe the buildings should just be pressured and to walk you have to be outside on the martian landscape (road or mars ave..) and as the wealth goes up the sidewalks upgrade to domes around the buildings and the domes connecting to other nearby structures.

    But I know that would be very difficult because there is nothing really like that in SC4.

    military base.

    if humans are to populate mars, the military would play a large part in it so it only makes sence that there is a military base on mars. it would probably have a landing strip as well as to allow shuttles to land.

    Hi, I'm kinda new, so forgive me if I do something dumb...

    1. Emergency
    - Fire suppression foam, instead of water
    - Decompression Response Team
    - Police
    - Medical

    2. Parks
    - Not glass domes (radiation and the like go through glass, possibly germanium, but thats really expensive, I believe)
    - Most likely underground

    3. Military Base
    - Why?

    who do you think would play a large part in funding the first colonies on mars and who do you think would transport the colonists? besides it would be fun to have one. it might even be the airport. (or whatever -port you want to call it where the shuttles land.)

    Remakes of the simcity 2000 arcologies would be awesome, I've always kept my eye out for that.
    Also, check out the artists conceptuals on NASA's website...that's what I see, just expanded to create a full colony.
