  1. Glenni Roof junk pack

I guess those things are called aircos :) I noticed the maxis has little skylights on every single roof in the game! The skylight will come in handy if I can ever manage to finish my buildings!
  2. Star Wars Plaza

I think he means that you need to render the model yourself :)
  3. Kefkas BATs

lol I've ran into a big problem I finaly got around to getting the bat on my new computer, but when I open a building (I tried to open my old buildings) it comes up blank after saying The Scene XRef file: C:\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\scenes\startup\TB2_CameraLightRig.gmax can not be found. It says that becuase I deleted it! I made a mistake while putting in the huge camera rig and accidently deleted it. But then I redownloaded everything, and it still has that problem, and some files it says file open failed. And the BAT stopped working on my old computer so I can't just render them there. anyways, this big problem probably isn't all taht big, and I'm sure that it will work once I get the camera back in, since it worked beforehand (although it came up with a million and a half missing textures). The problem is that my new computer has a C and an F drive. All the old filename paths go to C, but my computer is mostly on F. So I think I'll just repeat the directories on the C drive and save myself a big headache. Thank you for your continued interest.

Date: 7/26/2005 9:55:15 AM Author: marryescher Date: 7/26/2005 12:42:06 AM Author: miptag almost every road in the Detroit area every year it seems like half the roads were under construction Not only are the roads all over Detroit under construction constantly, all that construction doesnt seem to fix anything. quote> Yea, the roads are always under construction. I think they should just go all out and spend a ton of money and rebuild a small part of the highway, but make it so good that it won't need to get repaired for a long time, and then slowley make their way around the region. The other roads will just have to wait their turn. Plus if the roads aren't being fixed than there won't be any headaches from construction traffic. Besides people buy their SUVs anyways, then they could actualy use them
  5. Commuter Rail

Not quite true--that honor goes to Los Angeles, which had more miles of 'interurban rail' (=light rail) than any other city on Earth, in the form of the Pacific Electric Railway's 'Red Car' system....quote> What I meant was that the mass transportation (bus, and street cars, still no commuter rail) could take you anywhere in the city, but your probably right that LA had the most rail.

thanks 6underground I've been getting my new computer ready for a while, went on vacation, and camping, and getting ready for college for the last month. I leave for college in a few days, and during it I won't have time for BAT untill I get into my routine. I don't even have sim city on my new computer, and I'm having problems getting sim city.com to log me in so I don't have the bat or lot editor either. I'll get everything eventualy, just not especialy soon. I don't believe I've been trying to finish these since april!
  7. Commuter Rail

yea, there isn't anything in Detroit. At one point in time it had the most extensive mass transit on the planet. I think one of the projects in that big transportation bill that was just signed is to build an ann arbor-Detroit commuter rail, which is where the talk is coming from.
  8. mipro Barry Sanders Project

Looks great! I think that adding some color to the building so that it doesn't look so grey is good, but I think that it has too much color. Maybe you can tone it down a little before you re-render it (If you haven't already)?
  9. A Farewell from KOSC

I think these dramatic farewell threads are dumb Good luck with the simtropolis withdrawls
  10. Kefkas BATs

Hmmm, I might be able to get a special lot for you. If the normal lot gets released and I haven't sent you a non-tileset lot, pm me to remind me. and I think it was also in the New York tileset, I can't remember, so if it's in both there might not be a problem.

oh wow, comments! I haven't been checking up in the custom content areas lately, so I didn't notice the bump. I e-mailed Twrecks with a model of the new Poirer Hotel, but the footprint is bigger than it should be and is larger than 2x2 tiles. So I need to fix that and re-render. For the last three weeks I've been too busy to do much, but I spent two days making a building and a prop for simmars. I'd still like to finish and render the other buildings too. I just got a new computer for college, and I haven't gotten gmax on it yet, and I hope there aren't any complications with downloading it twice or something. Also, in two weeks I leave for college, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have. Although I've gotten alot more done during the school year than I did during the summer. I'm realy bad at finishing projects. ardecila, yea, the two buildings look alot alike, thanks for showing me it. And Loyola sent me a ton of advertisements!! Thanks for the comments everyone . I was going to show this thread to my friend, and my internet bookmarks aren't on my new computer so I started looking for this thread at page 10 and I couldn't find it! Eventualy I found that it had been active! So thanks for the support. I've also been working on getting my username here changed to Jasoncw instead of Kefka. Kefka was actualy more like a temporary name becuase all of my usual usernames where already taken, and I couldn't think of a better name. Also, my brother uses a similiar name, and I recently found out that in some cases he uses the same name. Jasoncw is what I'm changing my name to around all the forums I post at around the internet, so if you ever see that name you'll know it's me. jt_144_2004: When I looked at your reply in the the topic that you are replying to: box thing underneath, it didn't show the divisision between your post and signature, so it read nice work Lies... they are not nice, lol. GLENNI: why don't you want them in the chicago tileset? Isn't that where they should belong? There's also the ploppable too. I made a big post!!
  12. In real life, I think it's important for people not to get lost. For this I think a wheel shaped design works well for Avenues. The spokes can have names, while the tires can have numbers. That way, wherever you are in the city, you know where you are, or at the very least, how to get on a road and drive on it untill you know where you are. I also think it's important for residental areas to have a sense of community, and having a slightly less predictable road system for there can help. Each area within the avenues should be unique in terms of street names, and each area should have some kind of community area in the middle, like a park, school, or church. But the area should still be navigatable by someone whos never been there before. Having a good view is also good. If the city is in a valley, then the highway entering the city can be along the edge of the hill, giving visitors a great view of the city. The valley walls can mostly remain forested, so that people can look out of their kitchen window and see a forest in the distance. If the city is on flat land with nothing on it, have alot of parks and greenbelts Things like that to make the city nice to live in.
  13. Sometimes I feel like postmodernism is is realy fake feeling, but overall I'm happy with it. I'd prefer to judge an individual design.
