Nah, JPEG is fair game for photographs. It's actually what the format was designed for.

Just don't rerender them as JPEGs in MS Paint if you have to crop or edit.

You lose quality whenever you rerender something as JPEG, especially in MS Paint.

If I do anything in MS Paint to a JPEG, I save it as PNG and then do one of two things:

- if it's a photograph, I convert it back to JPEG in GIMP

- otherwise, I run it through PNGOUT to cut down the filesize
