1231. But it is a hard thing to keep track, so i don't blame you for not tracking it duke. Although, we have a good idea of where we would be if we could see all of the threads, because you'd expect most of the higher numbers to stick around longer because people keep bumping them and stop them from falling of into the archives after how ever long, I think its a year with no movement inside. So you wouldn't expect a thread of 2,000 posts to drop off the site, although we never will really know...

Not really, it depends on how crazy you go with it. I only update my top poster's list about once a month. Things don't change fast enough to warrant doing so more often.

There are definitely a few missing older threads. The first Moose Factory, for instance.

And then you have threads which are not only invisible but gone completely. The forum games were purged in May of 2004. Some of the old deleted threads were definitely longer than 1000 posts.

But it doesn't really matter that much, once they're gone they're gone, so I would just worry about those that we can still see.

The period of time after which a thread drops from public view is two years. Or, more specifically, 730 days. I don't think it corrects for leap years.

As for our standing, I'll also tell you this: there are at least four private topics with more replies than this thread.
