So I think I'm pretty much done with 345 Park Avenue now.    Thank God!   Do you guys think I should stay in the same area between Madison and Lexington, or move to another area?  If I keep working on buildings around that part of Park Avenue I was thinking I'd do either 320, 350, or 370 Park Avenue next.  What do you think?

PGVB- 64 bit op systems render a hell of a lot faster than 32 bits so its no wonder rendering isn't in issue for that Looking forward to upgrading to 64 bit so i can use all the 6 GB of RAM on my PC and render my Hancock Tower.

Well nothing much here agian.  But I finally searched for a long time for window and door textures that fit for New York.

And suggestions or comments so far?  And yes, I do work on a slow pace on building styles that I've never modeled ever before.

@ PBGV103: Well, concerning the buildings around Park Avenue I would go for 320PA; oh, concerning 370 PA: skyscraper did a good job on that, but the building is actually too small. It should be 4x4 tiles, including the Tennis&Racquet Club.

Evillions, don't worry about your modelling speed, the german friends have got such saying - "langsam, langsam, aber sicher" . The buildings turn out interesting, I'd like to see them with the roof.

It's up to you if you want to wait for me or not (I suggest to wait - there is nothing more annoying than making people watch the updates and download the same files again). It would take me a while, as I have to tame the PIM-X tool .

And please, use any free software like Irfan View and convert PNG files to JPG.

Well, I think the model is superb, and I really like the base. Oh, speaking of the base: Will it fill the lot entirely, or will there be a gap? I'm asking because mixing modeled ground plates and lot textures generally doesn't produce the nicest results. In such a case, it is often better to stretch the model a bit further until it covers the entire lot, even if that means making the base a few metres wider/narrower/longer/shorter than it is IRL.

However, the textures need some work IMO. Unfortunately, the BAT has a tendency to bleach out horizontal surfaces enormously. That's especially noticeable on the top sides of the parapet walls and on the base, where everything is blinding white and looks like untextured, solid colour. The rooftop textures would benefit a lot if you added some darker outlines along all walls and edges - take a look at this file to see what I mean (unfortunately the STEX previews are rather crappy): https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=3579

Hey, 345 Park avenue looks amazing, the plaza is a good quality. Is anyone know if it exists a NY street textures for avenues with a five lanes one way? or mod to replace basic traffic lights by thos of New York?

I ve put my builder lessons on left cos I ve too much work with the university... I will try again maybe for Christmas vacations

SimCityFan- The BAT of Bertelsman was lost when I reinstalled Windows but the model was not thankfully. I'll have to re-start it after I finish my current projects.

PBGV- the model was lost during my computer crash unfortunately. Only a few of the projects I was working on were saved unfortunately.

It's final's week so I won't have that much time for BAT until the weekend. (In fact I should be studying right now)

Got all my exams done early!     I just found out that VT's engineering dept. uses Autodesk!  I'm not sure which one though (3ds max, maya, revit, or inventor), and since I won't be in engineering until next year I can't get it yet

Hey all...

Life is making unsuspecting turns for me, in bad ways. Life has been trying to get me down, I'm slowly losing interest in things. The only thing left that still has my interest is my story I'm writing in this black book my art-teacher gave me as a gift for entering in this art-contest. I feel though that I'll even lose interest in that.

What I'm trying to say is, I might quit Simcity 4 for a long time, as well as other things, but I'm trying to get my life back on track, so I may not. But I'm not sure. I know for a fact though, that I'll tell you all officially if I really am quiting. Hopefully I can think things over, in positive ways. But, if I do quit, I promise I'll give 3ds. files of every incompleted BAT I currently have. For now though, I may not be posting here at all, but I may check in and lurk around. I'll talk to ya'll soon.

Whoa, Brandon - that doesn't sound too well. I hope you will overcome whatever makes you lose your motivation, and I wish you all the best. RL comes first, and if BATting no longer helps you to find pleasant distraction once in a while, you are better off quitting - at least for a while - and focusing on more important things. I hope we'll eventually see you again - not so much for the BATs you might create, but just to know life has finally taken a better turn for you and you are well. I know I'm by far not the only one in this community who will keep his fingers crossed for you. Take care and good luck!

if you do decide to quit SC4 and NYBT, we'll be very sad. But it will also mean that you have decided what's best for you and did it. So, in a silly kinda way, we'll be sad 'cuz you're leaving, but happy for you! Oh, f*#k it. I'm not good at philosophy when speaking English. 

Suggestion => try and give less time to SC4 and Simtropolis, and more time to your writing. But don't quit either of them.

@The rest of you all- Thanks for the kind words. I thought a little bit, so....I guess what I'm gonna do is give everything a long break. Of course, I may lurk around and check on ya'll, but I'm not going to do much. I've been BATing too much so I think a break for a while. Problem with that, I haven't actually played Simcity for almost a year now. It's such a shame that I'm losing interest, it usually kept my attention. So, what usually works for me in these situations, is, that I take a break for a little(or long) while, then, I'll BAT and play Simcity again, and my attention should be back on it. Today, I'm going to focus on clearing things up. Who knows? I may resume soon. I actually get over certain things really fast. But just know, I'm not actually quiting, well, that will be considered, but I'll tell ya'll if I really am. So, I'm just gonna avoid the computer for a while.

I wish the best for everyone! Especially when the Trixie Winners are announced!
