Yeah its definately one of my favourites on the Forums. Everything about it is well thought out. I've loved watching a piece of green land turn into a ravenous desert terrain, then watch urban sprawl do its work.

Marvellous! 44.gif

This is really good cj you made there. I love the way it expands to a city without putting too many skyrise. I was wondering, do you put some commercial where the suburbs are or it is all in the downtown area? Could we see a map with your RCI and one with the traffic would also be nice.

I'm also subscribing to your journal since it is so nice and interesting.

This is, without a doubt, the BEST City journal on any forum. Reading that report about the heast makes me glad I'm in Canada. I thought 30 was hot! (although, I think 20 is hot18.gif) and It's 60 there! The city looks great, I'm sure there is more greatness to come!

-Ice Cream must be popular there, eh?

Thanks for all the comments guys. Answers to Questions.

Bartsimpson64: I have a lot of commercial zones outside of downtown, in fact nearly 2/3s of all jobs are provided by commercial strip malls located along major roads and avenues. There are also sub-downtowns located arround the city as well, which provide a centralized job relief. I'll try and post some rci pics, as well as some traffic pics soon.

The update looks nice and the temp has dropped from the 100's (or the above 37). It's nice to see someone use avenues as a highway (because I do).

Ahh... the temperature has finally cooled down. It is nice to know.
I think that you may have gone overboard with the weather, as the normal temperature in northern ontario is about 24 degrees celcious during the summer, but it is a story after all.
Besides that, from what I have read, I would like to state that the region is comming along nicely. Your use of storys makes this CJ more so interesting then it already was. Keep on the good work!44.gif
*goes off to read the CJ entirely, even if it takes an eternity*

Love the region! Hope it stays alive for many months (or years) to come!

But, I just noticed something ::: (and unless I am mistaken) you don't have rail into Sandy Ridge!!!32.gif

    City Update 21.2:

Crystal Junction is very quickly approaching major city status. The population is now just above 600,000, and the urban sprawl is increasing to the north and east. The city is starting to standardize its power and water grids, as well as the recent completion of Freeway 248 in the northwest. The city's downtown area is booming, and inner city population and commercial jobs are sky rocketing.

There isnt any rail running into Sandy Ridge due to the rail network only linking major metropolotin areas, as opposed to towns, like in the us and other countries. The designed of the transportation network on Frontier Point only links major cities and indusrail centers.

I know... I'm saying who would want to delete such beautiful pictures?? If the forum (or some cold-hearted mod) deletes them though.. Yeah, they should be resized... OR just split it up into 3 or 4 different ones and put them side by side 3.gif

why did the mods remove these? why didnt they just url them so people who live in the *modern* world can view them? Instead you've removed them totaly which is rather annoying.26.gif It is 2004 you know.21.gif

Clearly I was unaware that this rule applied to imaged hosted offsite since i posted pics on here off site and no on ever removed them that were larger then the specified size din this fourm, not to mention the way the rules are setup in the pic hosting guidelines, kept givening me the impression that they only applied to on-site hosted pics. I'd appreciate that being listed in the guideline section with the words, Including off-site hosted pics. Other then that here are the URL links to the pics so that people can load them seperately from the site.
