Hey Blade,

I love what you've done with the Vancouver map! I'm from Abbotsford, which is about 70 km east of Vancouver. The last update was great because now Burrard Inlet is complete. I was wondering if you'd be able to do the same thing for False Creek, which is just south of the CBD peninsula. It goes from English Bay in towards the east, around Granville Island (not quite an island). With my horrible Paint skills, I've filled in approximately what it should look like (not even close to scale, but you get the idea). If you could change that part of the map, it would be perfect. I don't know how much work it would be, but it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I really dig the Greece ones. Is there a way I can add city tiles at the top? i.e. turning them over to increase the config file

I have some finished maps of Mexico that need to be released, then I'll probably go back and do some more maps of Greece and surrounding areas.

Could you post a tutorial on how to make these maps? The current tutorial in the Omnibus is outdated.

I'd like to make a map of Cook County, IL (Chicago) because the current map on here is not aligned with in-game cardinal points. I discussed the issue in an earlier post on this thread. The New York City map is aligned with in-game cardinal points, but the Chicago map is not, and it's way too big too.

"Whether it be the sweeping eagle in his flight, or the open apple-blossom, the toiling work-horse, the blithe swan, the branching oak, the winding stream at its base, the drifting clouds, over all the coursing sun, form ever follows function, and this is the law."

—Louis H. Sullivan, "The tall office building artistically considered." Lippincott's Magazine, March 1896.

This is what most mappers are using to make maps with.  Just follow the instructions and you're set to go.

Thanks! That's fair enough. It sure looks like you're busy, what with all the maps you're releasing. Keep up the good work!

blade, I've got a request, which I've also posted in the official request thread. I've just started a CJ that will be using your maps of the California Channel Islands that you posted on the STEX a little over a year ago, and I was wondering why you never posted maps of San Clemente and San Nicolas islands. Tiny Anacapa and Santa Barbara islands would be cool, too. Would you be able to finish the islands for us?

Here is Walled Lake, an area next door to Detroit Michigan that someone requested in another thread.  I should have this rendered and uploaded sometime this weekend, most likely after the NFL championship games or early Monday...

The requested Channel Islands maps I will begin working on sometime during the week next week.

Hey blade...I have still been trying to create a map of Pripyat, Ukraine but all hopes have been lost. Ever since the Chernobyl Plant blew up in 1986, they have basically taken that entire area off the face of the planet. Google maps provides the best view but no roads are named, no points of interests are there. I would like to recreate it, have a nuclear meltdown...and rebuild the town on the outskirts of the affected area. Kinda my way of invisioning the hopes of all the people that were taken and evacuated. The town had a rough population of 55,000 ukrainians all removed within 24hrs. Not including the surrounding area of farms and small towns in the 350 sqaure mile quarentine area. The affected area will remain a no mans land for more than 600yrs. I would like to recreate this once great city and you help would be appreciated, I have used about half of your maps so far. Hopefully I will he back from you soon, Thank you.

yes..and thank you, I have been trying to figure out how to make this map for over a year now. I am starting to lose hope in it for myself and i figured NHP mappers can get it done, there maps are the only ones I use anymore. BLADE 2K5, your maps are the the easiest and most user friendly (as well as accurately) I have seen. Love you and the rest that make up NHP, for putting out the best maps on the STEX.

Don't lose hope just yet.  With the coordinates that both of you gave me, it should, if nothing else, pinpoint the area I need to get data for.  It just may take awhile, I have a couple of other requests to complete before I can begin on yours.  I'll keep you posted here with any developments.2.gif

Ok, I've grabbed the data to finish up the Channel Islands that wasn't covered before as requested, and as for Pripyat, here is what I need from the requesters...

    coordinates.jpg

As you can see, in order to get the area you both have requested, I need coordinates for all four corners as shown above.  If you can get me that info, it'll make it a lot easier to get your request made for you.  Thanks.
