Here's what your request of Hangzhou China will look like Zakuten...

    hangzhoutf01a.jpg

I had a bigger version I was working on last night [12x9.5 large tiles] that covered more area to the east, but TerraFormer wouldn't save the work I had done on it.  So I had to go with the smaller version you see above [9.5x7 large tiles].  This request has been slipped into the next batch of renderings I'll be doing over the next couple of weeks.

Eep, sorry! I hate to say this, but that's actually a little off, the city is northeast of it--- It should be centered at 30.255679,120.172391, according to Google Maps' coordinates. That bend of the river going off the northern edge is actually the southern edge of the city. There should also be a small lake by the hills as well.

All my fault for not being so specific, sorry!

Oops. You're right. Ok, I'll have to re-do the map then. As for the lake you mentioned, it didn't even show in the data, so it probably won't be added in. Anyways, is the size of the map ok with you?

I'll be back a little later to check for your answer, I'm off to watch Monday Night Football2.gif

Oh, yeah, the size is just great! No worries, I'll dig out the lake myself... It -is- super shallow, only about 10 feet, so it's probably below the resolution available. Thanks so much!

Ok, I'll get to work on re-doing the DEM cropping and getting the map done as far as TerraFormer.  By the way, would you like the earlier map as well?  I can keep it for release if you like.

Either way, it's up to you, as for the other map. It doesn't really focus town, just some outer suburbs, so I could personally take it or leave it. However, I wouldn't want you to waste your work, so--

Actually, it wasn't all that much work, it took maybe about a half hour to do.  The real time consuming process is rendering, opening each tile one at a time and then saving.  Maybe I'll add to my Somewhere In The World series I'm still working on.

zakuten, here's the correct area you're looking for...[i took a closer look at the area in Google Earth this time2.gif]

    hangzhoutf.jpg

This one is a bit smaller, 8x6.5 large tiles [the row on the bottom are medium tiles] and I also took a closer look at the area with Google Earth and see the lake you were talking about, but as you can see from the image above, that area has raised elevation and doesn't clearly define the lakes outline.  So like you suggested, I'm going to leave it you to draw it in so you can get the shape as accurate as you want.

Thanks so much, that's just perfect-- I'm sure in Terraformer I can find the outline better and dig it out-- plus, having lived there for a semester, I could figure it out pretty well, hahah

Ok, sounds good.  Like I mentioned before, it'll be a week or two before I can release it as I have a request for mapping various areas of Mindanao Island in the Philippines.  I think so far I have four or five out of 10 that are worth of releasing, just haven't rendered them yet as I like to do that in batches.

Ok, here are the teasers for the four Greece maps I mentioned I'm doing a few days ago.  I just got through inspecting all four areas in Google Earth and it looks like there are no rivers missing that I could see, so these are ready for render.  Now I just need to decide on a terrain mod to render them with.  Choices, choices, what to do?

    Athens:

    Mt. Olympus Reagion:

    Patrait:

    Volos:

And there you have it.  There may be more maps from Greece coming soon, but there are definitely some maps of Mexico coming after these.2.gif
