If Simtropolis is a virtual city, this closet thread is its Castro District. Or East Village, I suppose, but with less...ah...vice. Except for the occasional mention of hamster porn.

Hm. This could make for an interesting political science paper. "Are purple pop icons such as Grimace and that Teletubby with the triangle on his head part of some vast Left Coast conspiracy to promote the decadent homosexual agenda within America's youth culture? Can you possibly tie any others into this theory? Discuss."

I want five pages, double-spaced on my desk by Monday morning 9am. You might be quizzed on this in class.

@Aran: I'm sure it would. And if I were presented with that assignment, then I would be writing at least ten pages, and five out of those primarily ranting. The rest would be reasoning. But no teacher I've ever heard of assigns any kind of political science paper like that.

And don't you worry, I won't mention hamster &$#@ anymore. (Directed to you and vid)

Then you're not taking the right courses. Last spring I was in a political philosophy class that had an hour-long debate over whether or not Papa Smurf was a communist. Interesting, to say the least.

Seriously, though, what the heck is it trying to be? 9.gif

And why would a restaurant name one of their mascots 'grimace'? 9.gif

@Aran: Really? I ought to take that course sometime. I belong in it! 9.gif

@vid: I have absolutely no idea. Also, I personally don't consider McDonald's to be a restaurant.

Please don't think like that. I personally can't do anything about the bullies, though I wish I could. Yes, I understand (somewhat keenly, in fact) that this is difficult to deal with. Yes, there are an awful lot of narrow-minded people in this world who enjoy other people's pain. Yes, it's going to be a tough road to follow for a while. You may find that some of your friends will no longer consider themselves such simply because you're gay. If they can't accept you for who you are, were they really your friends in the first place? Consider also that some of them might need a little time to adjust their thinking but will end up supporting and being there for you - in spite of acting distant at this particular moment. Don't be afraid to reach out and find new people to be with. No matter where you are, there's always someone around who might be interested in knowing you. Make finding that person or people a goal and make new friends if necessary. This is a tough time in your life, sure. But you're young and, without knowing you aside from your posts here, seem to be strong enough to make the very hard decision of coming out to your mother; with that in mind, I feel confident that you'll probably adjust to the new situation fairly rapidly and overcome this obstacle. Please, please, please: remember that there are people who support you and who like/love you for who you really are inside, not for who they thought you seemed to be. You've made a good decision - don't let yourself be bullied into thinking otherwise. In the long run you'll be much happier for having been true to yourself rather than hiding behind a facade. Be strong. You will be the better for it. And don't hesitate to turn to us here when you need to talk to someone. Sometimes it helps just to have someone listen to your problems. Cheers. (And cheer up, please. %7Boption%7D You're certainly not alone.) Aranquote>

Wow that was really meaningfull there Aran!

I've seen that one before. But they don't need money... Unless it's American girls you're talking about! 3.gif3.gif3.gif No offense. 9.gif They do need time though. As do I. But wouldn't that make me evil, too? Are you saying that the whole damn human race is evil? OK, so some of us are... But not all!

I'm very good at pissing people off. In fact, I just did! 9.gif

And if things go right he'll be even more pissed off, once his parents find out about what he's been up to the past 10 days... hehehe 11.gif

Ok, well I was debating whether to reply to this thread or not.

I just saw this thread a minute ago and looked through some of the posts.

Though I am a happily married heterosexual man myself, I am not one to judge others because of their sexual orientation. Its just not my place.

What I found interesting while sifting through some of the posts, was how heterosexuals are regarded as "straight"

I am just curious where/when the label straight became associated with heterosexual. I am sure its been like that a loooooooooong time, but was just curious.

I guess what I am getting at is that Heterosexual and Homosexual are opposite of eachother right? I mean a Heterosexual Man likes women, when a Homosexual Man likes the opposite, a man. Of course these apply to Heterosexual and Homosexual women too. All in all they are opposites of eachother, right?

Well so if Heterosexual is the antonym of Homosexual and Heterosexuals are considered "straight"........Then what are Homosexuals? Are they the antonym of straight which is......"crooked".

Let me stop for a second a just say that I am in no way calling gays, lesbians, homosexuals, metrosexuals, bi-sexuals, or even Homo-sapiens(humans for the Layman's) "crooked".

I am simply trying to put myself in a Homosexuals shoes for a minute (wow those are nice shoes). I just think that if I were gay then I might take offense to others being considered straight, because if they are straight then what am I "crooked"? By calling them straight wouldnt I just be reassuring/reinforcing to the world that the label as a Homosexual is "crooked" or wrong.

It just seems odd to me, perhaps I am thinking too deeply on the issue, I dont know really.

Again let me stress the fact that this is just an observational view. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyones sexual orientation.

I just thought I would welcome you all into my brain for a minute to see how I usually analyze situations.

Homosexuals are 'bent'; that terminology isn't used anymore, but it started off in Britain I think in the 1800s, with 'straight' and 'bent'

'Bent' was replaced with 'gay' because, at the time, 'gay' meant 'happy' and that was a positive thing.

'Faggot' originally meant 'bundle of sticks'; in refernce to younger boys at all male schools in Britain in the same time period that would have to go out and gather sticks for fires. It usually meant they were weaker. 3.gif

Look them up on Wikipedia, it's got lots more info on it.

Hey vid, youre crooked! 3.gif nah, just kidding, but I actually think that we shouldnt be picking on the way we talk now adays, seeing as its just the way we speak, I mean, should I start taking offense for being called straight if I had one leg that was longer than the other?

ok, that made no sense at all...

meh.

Homo Sapien, Boggy. Homo Sapien.

You don't have to be labelled if you don't want to be labelled. Some people just find labelling makes it easier to fit in.

As for beastiality.... That's only recognized in Holland.quote>

(quoted from vidioman, page 1)

you've got guts, you 3.gif we dutch people dislike beastiality as much as you do!

You know whats cool about holland? The fact that gay people can marry each other here. This made the amount of gay people in holland increase rapidly, for as far as I know. Suddenly every guy wants to marry another guy :S
