Due to alot of chat about this in the Picture thread I think it would be a good idea to have a thread just to discuss sexual orientation.

Im gay myself and I have no problem with other people. (Except beastiallity thats just wrong).

I hope Simtropolis can be mature enough to deal with this thread and not get it shut down.

Moderator's edit:  Simtropolis Closet Guidelines.

Fellow Closeteers,

After extensive research, the moderators and topic originator have decided to put forth a clear demarcation of guidelines for this thread.  The reasoning behind this is that debates that start in this thread nearly always degenerate into flame wars or something close to it.

So here are the guidelines for what this thread is all about.

This is what this thread is for, in GingerBlokey's words, which we agreed with:

"The closet is a place for GLBT, questioning, and straight people to come, discuss their problems, chat about clothes, men, women, etc. and not be negative about each other.  It is a place for everyone to chill, show some pics, have fun, and tell a joke or two."

This is what the thread is not for:

- Heavy psychological or sociological debate.

- Above all, this thread is not for debate as to whether homosexuality is "right" or "wrong!"

Any post that falls into the category of what this thread is not for will be edited instantly.  No longer will we be waiting to "see how this goes" as we have done in the past.  This thread is now 50+ pages and we all now have a pretty good idea of when something is going to degrade into bashing.  We will no longer be reaching that point.

You are more than welcome to discuss the "rightness" or "wrongness" on your own time, but not here.

So as not to be too heavy-handed, there are exceptions to these guidelines.  For example, if somebody come to the Closet with a gay-related problem or issue to be sorted out, and light or moderate polite debate ensues over the offering of solutions, then that's okay.

Finally, these guidelines are not up for debate.  This idea has already been discussed at length between those in charge of the thread.

I am also gay.

I had a boyfriend, but he turned out to be an idiot, so I'm single and lovin' it.

Anyway, glad to be completely out of the ST closet! 18.gif

I thought Simtropolis' official closet was Dev's closet, since he was always posting pictures of himself standing in front of it...18.gif

Anyway, I'm straight, though, so maybe I should not even be posting here.

Nah DT, it's okay, I think that the entire point of the thread is to discuss orientation in general.

You're cool here. *Removes velvet rope* 18.gif

As for beastiality.... That's only recognized in Holland.

Hmm... for a closet, this sure is roomy. Bigger than my uncles bedroom! But is it big enough for Kevan's ego?42.gif Hmm....

So, are you going to be serving any food or drink? I heard that gays can cook pretty well.

Haha... How funny you guys are doing this.. I'm not gay my self. But when I used to live it up in San Francisco mostly all my friends were gay. I didn't really care though. I was used to it and NO I never did turn gay. Because I had a girlfriend for like the pass 3 years. So I had no interest in dudes.. This is one great thread for you all bi's and gay's...

Oo, did I start something with my Simtropolis closet remark awhile back? 17.gif

I'm out here and to just about everyone on the planet. I think my grandmother's response was the best. When it came time to tell her, I beat around the bush a lot before finially coming out with it. She was quite ticked off: That's all? I thought something was wrong! You worried me to death you little [censored]! 18.gif

Now if I can only convince her to stop trying to fry my rabbits...

It's gratifying to see some of our straight Simtropolis friends show up in this thread. I lost a few friends when I came out all those years ago. Well, I suppose they weren't really friends anyway then...

@ Dusktrooper: While it is a bit of a stereotype that we can cook, it's not 100% applicable. However, I can cook quite well. whips up famous Kentucky hot browns for Dusktrooper Enjoy!

Why does the emergency coaster have pictures of kittens on it? I would think that, being an emergency coaster, it would be more serious. Like, say, full grown cats?

I'm not gay either, but I have a few friends and relatives that are. When my parents finally told me about my aunt when I was about 10, I just said Oh, that's why she lives with that woman. It is something that has never been an issue to me, and I am bothered by people that are bothered by it. I don't see any reason why my aunt and her partner can't get married, because they've had a healthy, stable relationship and have been living together for more than a decade.

One of my gay friends fits all the gay stereotypes; he goes clubbing often, spends a lot of money on clothes and hair care, and uses words such as 'delish'. One of my other gay friend fits no gay stereotypes at all.

My ego is not that big22.gif....
When I told my parents, I did for 2 reasons:
1)My current boyfriend: I was in love with him but i could not do anything since i did not have my gay license...so I told my parents to be 100% free to flirt with him and etc...9.gif
    2) I was REALLY bored that day!3.gif

Ah yes, there have to be some in any community this size, don't there?

Me personally, I'm straight and I can't say I've ever found any guys remotely attractive.

The disturbing trend shows the numbers of homosexuals are increasingly on the rise, and soon, if not already, we will find brave young men and women coming out of the closet and declaring their heterosexuality; only to find that the world treats their lifestyle choice as something so shameful, something so mockable, that they are left in depression and therapy for years to come -- hoping to be 'cured' of their heterosexuality. It is to these persons where Mr. Glouchester's article holds most value -- showing them that while being heterosexual is something to be ashamed of, it is not something that they can find themselves capable of living with, in secrecy. -Jer, Adequacy.org
