Wow, Joerg, you are doing an amazing job on the Park building.  When that hits the STEX it's going to be a major showstopper.  Give us a heads-up so other BATters can get out of the way!  9.gif9.gif

Ok guys finnally this thing is done. But man am i pissed. First off autocad has been throwing fits all day becuase i need more ram yah its using about 460 megs of my 512 so it was not pretty. Anyhow after all that the exports to gmax were not working right. After finnally figuring all that out and doing the entire base today ive probably put in 9-10 hours work just today it is insane i could have cut that by a third if my computer would have hurried up.  Anyhow i got to gmax and i looked great once i had everything assembeled so i went for a render and i started gettting these wierd lines through the render much like what happened to the person doing the ATT building. The bat much have something against chicago buildings lol.  Anyhow i need to get this fixed, texture everything. add roof junk, make the park tower sign, add night lighting, and export. Also i need to get the mall done and ready to export in less than 2 weeks too.

Anyhow here is a pic and yes its huge.

Image removed. Images to be 800x600 max thanks!

Stupid JPG you cant see some things even.

Also remember it isnt entirely accurate especially the base and the back side but its pretty close and will look amazing in the game. And trust me there will be no more changes to the buildings geometry other than adding minor details becuase im not going back to cad with this sucker.  Anyhow i hope you guys enjoy the pic.

Wow man you have really out-done yourself. I think you could do some more real world buildings to go along with the others. You have real talent. BTW the base looks awsome. Even thought you couldn't find any pics. Once again great Job.

joerg you should get yourself the new huge lighting rig from the BAT Workshop. If you have it, you need to make sure it is working with this building. It doesn't look like it is at the moment.

YES!  NICE!  And yes, get cali's huge rig.  That will fix  that weird striping and darkening.

Ok guys thanks a bunch for reminding me about the new lighting rig it did wonders.

Anyhow i think im almost done with textureing im not sure how happy i am with the texture on the main walls but i will mess with it later. All i have left now is nightlighting.  After that its on to the mall.

Anyhow here is a textured pic.

Looks Great Joerg, I don't know about the wall color though I would maybe try a tad bit darker color.

Joerg - it looks absolutely gorgeous!!!  I went out of town right after I offered to take those pictures for you and just now saw the request 7.gif  Sorry about that.

Too bad you're done playing with the geometry, because, the restaurant portion that hangs out over the building's east (main) facade could use some work.  Other than that though, it's absolutely perfect!

Oh, and I wouldn't touch the color of the stone texture, it's spot on!

Yah sorry im not changing anything geometry wise but autocad take about 10 mins just to load this sucker and even with only one layer on it takes forever otherwise i would be more than happy to go and add some more details.  Also i didnt have much to go on for the resturaunt heck i didnt even know it was a resturaunt.  Anyhow i think it will look good and yes i agree about the texturing i just need to darken them a bit though i had them perfect before i rendered but you know how the render washes thing out. Anyways im pretty happy with it.

Maybe you can just try bringing the stone texture accross the top and bottom of the restaurant to help it blend in better?  I think you'd be set after that.

I tell you what geoff if you get me a picture of the resturaunt thingy thats good enough to work with i will see what i can do about redoing it. Im guessing i can manage doing it in gmax or just making it in a sperate cad file.

What do you guys think and bare in mind the base is far from accurate as i just found a good pic alittle late but its about time.

Lol just found another good one dang the other day when i looked for pics i didnt come accross anything near this good. But then again its just today i found the buildings real name rather than just park tower.

One cool pic and the only other pic i can find of both sides of the building. (edit: 2nd pic didn't stay attached, oh well.)  I just really wanted to show the cool ground fog pic.   Also, do you plan to make the anchor stores on the mall brand name places?/idealbb/files/abovethecloudsday2.jpg

Ok i went back to cad to do some more work unfortunetly though importing is still going to be a pain but i did get a good render of the improved base in cad. Of course this has no textures or window transparency but you can get the rough idea.

Joerg, you should take a stab at modeling the Water Tower. That would go excellent right next to the Park building.

    Woohoo!!! Much better!

cat person: there really aren't any anchor stores at the base.  It's really not even a mall.  Basically just the lobby for the hotel (and some other very small miscellaneous stores).
