It may be a little tall, but then again we don't have a lot of tall  residential buildings.1.gif I'm off to download it.

Next up should be the mall. Atleast i hope but not gurentees. For some reason i just cant stand working on it but im trying. After that i would like to do a few smaller less amazing skyscrapers. The ones you see in cities of a couple hundred thousand. I think we have enough of the monsters for awhile.

Also the Park tower was just updated so you guys might check that out.

That is looking very detailed. Is it going to be a medium density building or high density? This is a slightly different approach.

Well at 44 Floors it will probably have to be High Density. Although it will be mostly medium wealth. And it shoudl sit just perfectly on a 6x3 lot so it will be growable aswell. Also im looking for ideas on an entrance or plaza of sometype and also a texture for the red part.

I like the overall design of the building. To me this building has a very suburban office park feel. At over 40 storys it may be a little large. This would make a great suburban office building if it were about half that size. Just my $.02.

Looks good! Try a lighter colour, like peach.

that looks pretty good so far, is that middle section lifted off the ground cos if it is it'd be a perfect opportunity to have a transit enabled road running under 9.gif

That is looking great! I like the reflections. The middle section would look good raised, even if it wasn't network enabled.

well, i've held my tongue for a long time cause you are a fantastic modeler...

but dude, your texturing needs massive work.  i've seen model after model of yours go through amazing detailing processes, and completely die at the texturing stage and i don't want to see it happen again.  but on the other hand, you have done some beautiful texturing jobs (SMM, SN Bank HQ, Space Needle...)

now, please do not think i am an arrogant little snot, cause i don't want to come off that way but there are a few tips to consider when texturing.

    /idealbb/files/Walnut2

its not really the colors i have an issue with, its mostly the lack of simplicity, the base looks tiled and too busy....

another thing i have an issue with is the fact that you don't use gradients.  in the chicago park tower, it sticks out like a big yellow thumb because the texture never really fits in with the rest of the scene.  in most SC4 buildings, they have created a smooth transition from the lighter texts on top to a slow fade for the texts on the bottom.

here is my pathetic attempt at gradients:
    /idealbb/files/multicolor_peach1.jpg

here is a texture from DT's library.  its a nice text when mirrored a few times.

and now i added a nice shade on the texture that gets fairly dark towards the bottom:
    /idealbb/files/DTdarker1.jpg

and this creates that gradient i was talking about.  now place this on a model...
    /idealbb/files/GRADIENT8.jpg
and the texture is comparatively darker at the bottom...  now, this is only touching the surface of gradients.  if you tried some on this model, it would definately benefit.  gradients are your friend.

well, i said what i needed to say, i hope you take these concerns into consideration.  and i hope you don't feel insulted by this.  i'm just saying it how i see it.  thanks for listening.

Thanks for the Suggestions N7 i will try and work out some gradients and see if i cant find a good way around the tiles. Also the base has alot of work left to be done model wise.  Also is there a way to tile a texture in photoshop so as to make it the size i will need for this model. Other wise i dont know how i will do a gradient unless i can overlay a texture ontop of another texture in gmax.

whew!!  i was worried there for a sec!  cause i didn't know how you were going to react!

you can definately make it the size you need.  just create a new drawing in PS, with a massive amount of pixels, and take your texture, and start tiling it on the blank sheet.  try to keep it smooth and if you need to, go ahead and blur the thing.

i haven't had any troubles with gradients cause i stay low to the ground!!  and the game's shadows pick all that up.  well, i hope this works out for you.  the model looks great and i hope to see some of your magic on this.

Ok i am trying to follow your suggestions N7 and i got the gradient in aswell as a more active roof texture of course everythign still needs more work though.

Image removed. Images to be 800x600 max thanks!

Anyhow keep up the suggestions guys.

Oh and on a side note my next project will probably be the Mecora Maxis a tower beside the petronas. Rubic asked me to look into modeling it to go along with the petronas lot.

wow, it turned into shag!!  jk, thanks for taking in the suggestions.

now, another trick to texturing is to make sure you have a fairly subtle base texture.  this one on right now, well, its a little overpowering.  try lighter shades of this color, but not letting it turn pink!  hehe

the gradients look awesome, great job.  and it almost seems as if this is going to be a southwestern style.  if you need some good stuccos, i'd be glad to help, cause i have a lot of colors.

the middle sector is still a little busy, unless this is southwestern style, try for grays on the patio.  whatever the pattern, it is still quite subtle.

these are great leaps and bounds you have made in the last few minutes.  i'm excited that you are doing so well on this!

That new texture is a major improvement.  textures really do define the project.  A great model with a lousy texture just looks bad.  A bad model with a good texture, well it might look ok...  I really need to spend a few days playing in photoshop....  someday....

The area under the middle section contains the main entrances. The middle section is now elevated. And there are also doors on the middle skydeck.
